On 13 Sep 13 the owner of Huck’s Pallet, 3810 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, reported at some point during the past two days a “Pedestrian Crossing” sign he purchased was stolen from the roadway outside his business. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 13 Sep 13 Clinton L. Purkey, age 37, 5870 State Route 26, Marietta, reported he loaned a single shot shotgun to a friend in November 2011 and his friend has since moved and refused repeated requests to return the weapon. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 13 Sep 13 Thomas Burkhart, age 52, 1018 36th Street, Vienna, was walking his mother’s beagle on Masonic Park Lane in Devola when a great dane charged at it from the nearby park. The large dog attacked the beagle for approximately one minute, biting him multiple times, before the great dane’s owner was able to intervene. The beagle, which was bleeding from lacerations on both sides, was going to be held overnight at the Green Meadows Veterinary Clinic for observation. This case remains under investigation (1010).

On 13 Sep 13 Howard C. Spencer, age 67, 52 Saint Andrews Boulevard, Belpre, reported he found two syringes containing a yellowish fluid under a mattress in his adult daughter’s bedroom. The syringes, which did not test positive for heroin, were marked for destruction (509).

On 13 Sep 13 Ralph E. Cline, age 60, 920 Bender Road, Marietta, reported when he arrived home he discovered what appeared to be a suicide note from his son, Cody J. Cline, age 33, 611 Ward Place Apt. B, Parkersburg. The elder Cline said his son stole a generator and other tools and that his son intended to pawn the items in order to buy heroin and overdose on it. In the note the younger Cline admitted stealing various items, including a shotgun, and pawning the items days earlier. The Belpre Police Department located the younger Cline and arrested him for driving under a suspended license. At the time of his arrest, Mr. Cline was in possession of his father’s generator as well as pawn receipts from other stolen items he pawned for cash. For stealing the generator and other tools, Deputy Sheriff McPeek charged Mr. Cline with grand theft. Additional charges are pending.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Bruce Walter Kohler, age 52, 7802 Brittany Drive NE, North Canton, OH, for OVI and speeding, both misdemeanors. Kohler was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 13 at 2:44 am.

Amy Leigh Davis, age 28, 407 Eighth Street Lot 6, Belpre, for domestic violence and for driving under an FRA suspended license, both misdemeanors. Davis was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Nichols of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 13 at 5:11 am.

Terra Elizabeth Hooper, age 33, 2614 Bird Street, Parkersburg, for tampering with evidence and for two counts of theft, all felonies. Hooper was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 13 at 12:19 pm.

Cody Justin Cline, age 33, 6112 Ward Street Apt. B, Parkersburg, for theft, a felony. Cline arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 13 at 6:00 pm.

Mackenzie Patrick Peters, age 23, 804 Victoria Avenue, Williamstown, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Peters was arrested at Don Drumm Stadium by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 13 at 9:15 pm.
