On 21 Aug 13 the Lowell Fire Department transported a forty-eight year old Lowell resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The victim, who shot himself with a .22 rifle, is listed in critical condition. At this time no foul play is suspected in the incident (296, 910).

On 21 Aug 13 Deputy Sheriff Hunter requested summonses for Jessica D. Lewis, age 35, 1775 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, and Karen S. McConnell, age 45, 120 Woodlawn Avenue, Marietta, for disorderly conduct. Ms. McConnell was accompanying a friend to exchange custody of his daughter at Ms. Lewis' residence when an argument erupted. Ms. Lewis and Ms. McConnell provided conflicting accounts about the incident and each blamed the other for instigating the conflict. No physical violence occurred.

On 21 Aug 13 Katherine R. Hockenberry, age 36, 10895 Dalzell Road, Lower Salem, reported she believes her mother entered her home without permission and stole a baking dish, a tub of butter and an ice cream bucket full of vegetable soup. Deputy Sheriff Hunter spoke to Ms. Hockenberry's mother and determined the baking dish belonged to her. Unable to locate neither the butter nor the vegetable soup, Deputy Hunter closed this case.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Charles Ray Workman, age 28, 5106 E. New Roe Road, Adolphus, KY, for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Workman was arrested by Patrolman Hively at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 13 at 1:05 pm.

Korey Andrew Thompson, age 19, 413 Couglar Street, New Matamoras, for criminal mischief and for unauthorized sale/discharge of fireworks, both misdemeanors. Thompson was arrested on Main Street in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 13 at 1:15 pm.

Michael Dean Slonaker, age 29, 316 Main Street, New Matamoras, for criminal mischief and for unauthorized sale/discharge of fireworks, both misdemeanors. Slonaker was arrested in New Matamoras by Patrolman Blamble of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 13 at 2:40 pm.

James Warren Smith, age 27, 127 Euclid Place, Marietta, for obstructing official business, theft and for violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors. Smith was arrested on Colegate Drive by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 13 at 6:41 pm.

Tyson Chad Hill, age 31, 175 Goose Run Road, Marietta, for two felony charges of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief. Hill was arrested on Maple Street by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 13 at 8:24 pm.
