On 18 Aug 13 Deputy Sheriff McPeek requested summonses for a sixteen year old Wingett Run resident and a seventeen year old Lowell resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by underage consumption of alcohol. While on foot patrol at the Waterford Fair, Deputy McPeek observed the two teenagers arguing. Nearby, on the rail of one of the teenagers’ truck, Deputy McPeek noticed two cups containing beer. In the bed of the truck Deputy McPeek also saw empty beer cans, empty cases of beer and four full cans of beer. Both suspects admitted consuming three or four beers throughout the evening.

On 18 Aug 13 an individual was attempting to repossess a vehicle when he was confronted by the vehicle's owner. Scott A. Miller, age 49, and his son, Brandon, age 19, both of 540 Browns Road, Marietta, flew into a fit of rage, cursed at the victim and repeatedly challenged him to fight. At one point the elder Miller shoved the victim several times. Both suspects admitted yelling at the victim out of frustration but denied physically assaulting him. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Hunter requested summonses for both of the suspects for disorderly conduct.

On 18 Aug 13 Tricia A. Walker, age 28, 2470 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported she and her family were away from their residence for twelve hours that day and during that timeframe an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole a small safe. In addition to personal documents, the safe contained cash and jewelry valued at a total of $1,700. This case remains under investigation (126).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Marcus Thomas Marshall, age 22, 43 Colegate Drive, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Marshall was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Harlow of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Aug 13 at 3:05 am.

Elijah Neil Naylor, age 27, Wooster, OH, for assault, a misdemeanor. Naylor was picked up in Wayne County and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Aug 13 at 11:45 am.
