On 25 Jul 13 Susan P. Berry, age 57, 870 Rubrake Road, Fleming, reported she had been arguing with her husband, John, age 61, for the past several days and earlier in the evening he stomped on her left big toe and broke the nail. Mrs. Berry stated her husband subsequently threw a kitchen knife in her direction but she did not feel he was attempting to harm her with it. Intoxicated from consuming alcohol throughout the day, Mr. Berry refused to comment on the incident. Mrs. Berry further commented that her husband’s actions caused her to fear for her safety. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Reeder arrested Mr. Berry for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

Ms. Garmon said the incident was only verbal and that she slipped on rocks when she stepped out of the stopped vehicle. A passerby saw Ms. Garmon on the ground and reported her concern. Based on his investigation, Deputy Brockmeier closed this case as unfounded.
