On 15 Jul 13 Mildred Shirley, age 82, 735 Bramblewood Heights Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 6 Jun and 20 Jun a queen sized quilt she made was stolen from her home. This case remains under investigation (509).

On 15 Jul 13 a nine month old Lowell resident received treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital for injuries suffered from a dog bite. The toddler was playing near a five year old Great Dane-Boxer mix that was chewing on a chew toy. The child grabbed the dog’s head, at which point the dog snapped and bit the child on the head. Along with a two inch laceration on the back of her head, the toddler had a puncture in her right eyelid. The toddler was later life-flighted to Columbus after a CAT scan revealed the child’s right eye socket was fractured. She is expected to recover fully (912).

On 15 Jul 13 a four year old African Mastiff dog bit an eighteen month old Waterford resident on the head. The toddler briefly wandered away from her mother into a kitchen where the dog was eating. The dog was under the influence of medication following a surgery earlier in the day and inflicted only a minor wound. Transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Beverly-Waterford Fire Department, the toddler was later released. She did not suffer any serious injuries (126).

On 15 Jul 13 the Barlow Fire Department transported a sixty year old Palmer Township resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following a suicide attempt. The victim’s wife and neighbors found the victim unconscious hanging in his garage after seeing a suicide note inside the home. The victim did not suffer serious injury and was to be released after meeting mental health counselors (912).

On 15 Jul 13 Deputy Sheriff McPeek requested summonses for Misty R. Mitchell, age 23, 1210 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, and Malinda Britton, age 20, 1214 Drag Strip Road, for disorderly conduct by fighting. Ms. Britton stated Ms. Mitchell came to her residence, confronted her over an alleged affair and attempted to punch her. In retaliation, Ms. Britton shoved Ms. Mitchell and grabbed her hair. Witnesses observed the fight and confirmed Ms. Mitchell’s account of the events.

On 15 Jul 13 administrators at Heartland, 5001 State Route 60, Marietta, reported a monthly audit on the disposal of unused medications revealed a number of opiate-based narcotic medications were missing. This case remains under investigation (126).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Kaydee Lynn Hall, age 23, 501 Putnam Street, Parkersburg, for failure to appear, breach of recognizance and two counts of theft, all misdemeanors. Hall was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Cook of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 13 at 1:49 am.

Larry Gale Thompson Jr., age 30, 231 E. Faye Avenue, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 13 at 12:15 pm.

Amanda Asia Wallace, age 19, 231 E. Faye Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Wallace was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 13 at 12:37 pm.

Brian Lewis Bias II, age 26, 3702 11th Avenue, Vienna, for driving under a suspended license, for making a false statement and for parking with an expired registration, all misdemeanors. Bias was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 Jul 13 at 9:55 pm.
