On 9 Jul 13 Deputy Sheriff Underwood and the Barlow Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at a camper trailer where Shane Bonar, age 37, resides with his wife at 141 Stone Quarry Road, Fleming. Neither Mr. Bonar nor his wife was home when the fire broke out and the trailer was fully engulfed when emergency personnel arrived. Unable to determine the cause of the fire, the Barlow fire chief contacted the State Fire Marshal to conduct an investigation.

On 9 Jul 13 Kathy L. Bell, age 55, 10 Browns Road Apt. 8A, Marietta, reported her ex-boyfriend has been harassing her since the end of their relationship. Ms. Bell said her ex-boyfriend threatened to shoot her and any other male she becomes involved with and commented that he is always intoxicated and she is afraid of him. Contradictorily, Ms. Bell’s ex-boyfriend accused her of harassing him and leaving him a confrontational note at his home. Both suspects were advised by Deputy Sheriff Carr to have no further contact with each other.

On 9 Jul 13 April L. Hubbard, age 50, 20745 County Road 9, New Matamoras, was traveling through a creek bed on her driveway when the rising flood waters washed Ms. Hubbard and her Mazda sedan approximately a quarter of a mile downstream. The vehicle came to rest against a bridge and was later towed from the flood waters. Ms. Hubbard was not injured (910).

On 9 Jul 13 Deputy Sheriff McGilton issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Natalie Ball, age 25, 103 Marshall Road, Marietta, for failing to confine/restrain a dog. At the beginning of this month a neighbor was walking his dog near Ms. Ball’s home when Ms. Ball’s six year old boxer attacked his dog. Ms. Ball heard the commotion and intervened, but not before her dog bit her neighbor on the hand and forearm. Ms. Ball was also bitten while attempting to separate the dogs. Both sought treatment for their minor wounds.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Michael Wayne Byington, age 38, 1574 Elizabeth Street Apt. A, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Byington was arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jul 13 at 11:17 am.

Donald Eugene Sharp, age 33, 180 Township Road 1378, Proctorville, OH, for two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Sharp was picked up at the Jackson County Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jul 13 at 3:34 pm.
