On 15 Jun 13 Deputy Sheriff Metts observed the driver of a pickup truck making a U-turn on Greene Street. When Deputy Metts initiated a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Sharon K. Gibbs, age 48, 841 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, stopped her truck in the oncoming lane. As Deputy Metts approached the vehicle, saw Ms. Gibbs tightly clenching the steering wheel and screaming at the windshield. Ms. Gibbs was uncooperative with Deputies at the scene and appeared to be speaking to people who weren't there. While being placed under arrest, Ms. Gibbs continued to resist and kicked and screamed. Ms. Gibbs was finally subdued after being shocked by a Taser. For her actions, Ms. Gibbs was arrested for reckless operation, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 15 Jun 13 Lt. Norman and Deputy Sheriff McConnell responded to the scene of death of a forty year old Belpre resident. The woman's death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 15 Jun 13 Martha L. Schwendeman, age 55, 10801 State Route 676, Vincent, reported her live-in boyfriend became upset when she refused to go to the store to purchase him more vodka. Realizing her boyfriend was becoming increasingly angry, Ms. Schwendeman exited the home to avoid further problems. Lt. Norman determined no threats or act of domestic violence occurred.

On 15 Jun 13 Sgt. Reeder arrested Michael P. Stacy, age 35, 2217 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent, for domestic violence. When Mr. Stacy's live-in girlfriend, Heather D. Lewis, age 38, confronted him over his drinking problem, Mr. Stacy punched her in the face. Though Mr. Stacy denied striking Ms. Lewis, Sgt. Reeder observed a bruise beginning to form on Ms. Lewis' right cheek. Sgt. Reeder also noticed Mr. Stacy appeared to be intoxicated and unsteady on his feet. At the Washington County Jail, Mr. Stacy tested .256 BAC.

On 15 Jun 13 Jason Weidner, age 36, 706 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, reported his live-in girlfriend shut a car door on his hand. Arguing over dinner plans with his girlfriend's parents, Mr. Weidner said his girlfriend was upset that he did not want to go along. Ms. Weidner's girlfriend was seated in her vehicle during the argument when she abruptly shut the door on her boyfriend's hand. Later punched in the face by his girlfriend, Mr. Weidner declined to pursue charges in the matter. Therefore, Deputy Sheriff Augenstein closed this case as unfounded.

On 15 Jun 13 Deputy Sheriff Metts requested summonses for Malcolm L. Mayle, age 21, 1580 Mayle Ridge Road, Cutler, and his wife, Angela, age 20, for disorderly conduct by fightings. Upset that her husband was drinking when she arrived home, Mrs. Mayle confronted Mr. Mayle over his alcohol use. As the argument continued, Mr. Mayle poured Pine-Sol on his wife's clothing and she retaliated by pouring the solution on him and his recliner. Mr. Mayle then squirted dish soap on his wife and in her hair and she responded by pouring water on her husband. Neither party reported being in fear for their safety during the incident. They also agreed to separate for the evening to avoid further problems.
