On 9 Jun 13 Deputy Sheriff Holbert and the Little Muskingum and Newport fire departments were dispatched to a fire at a vacant home at 1505 Brooks Road, Marietta. First responders traveling to the scene observed a dark colored Chevy Malibu traveling away from the fire on the lightly traveled road. The home, which is listed for sale, completely burned to the ground. The State Fire Marshal was contacted to attempt to determine the cause of the fire.

On 9 Jun 13 Melinda S. Norris, age 51, 671 Baker Ridge Road, Macksburg, reported that morning she discovered four construction cones, a construction barrel and a street sign placed at the beginning of her driveway. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 9 Jun 13 Tim T. Pasco, age 48, 342 Sparling Road, Waterford, reported an acquaintance phoned him that afternoon and informed him that he saw two unknown males removing multiple bags of cans from a building on his property. Deputy Sheriff Reeder identified the two males, as well as a female accomplice and determined the trio stole a total of eight bags of cans and sold them for $112. Charges may be filed by Deputy Reeder at a later date.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Brittany Maria Martin, age 27, 100 Linwood Avenue, Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of her probation and misdemeanor charges of theft. Martin was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jun 13 at 10:29 am.

Latoya Lynn Russell, age 29, 1044 Hadley Lane, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Russell was arrested by Patrolman Hively at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jun 13 at 3:18 pm.

Jacob Tyler Frame, age 22, 2204 Hill Street, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Frame was arrested at 1749 State Route 339 by Patrolman Jobes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jun 13 at 6:05 pm.
