On 1 Jun 13 Rebecca Rooney, age 31, 14350 State Route 555, Cutler, reported she was involved in a brief altercation with her husband. Upset that his wife allowed a vacuum salesman in their home when he was not present, Mrs. Rooney’s husband became very rude and combative with the salesman. When Mrs. Rooney’s husband began to approach the salesman, Mrs. Rooney intervened, fearing her husband may attack him. At that point, Mrs. Rooney’s husband struck her in the face, grabbed her by the arms and forced her outside the front door. Though she was informed her husband could be charged with domestic violence, Mrs. Rooney was adamant that he not be arrested and declined to pursue charges against him.

On 1 Jun 13 Gina L. Morrison, age 48, 11390 State Route 26, Marietta, reported her ex-husband, Douglas, age 50, 486 Sams Lane, Washington, WV, was at her residence, in violation of a protection order she has against him. Ms. Morrison said her husband was intoxicated and threatened her. While Deputies responded, Mr. Morrison stole his ex-wife’s Ford pickup truck and led law enforcement in Ohio and West Virginia on a lengthy chase. Mr. Morrison was apprehended after the Wood County Sheriff’s Office deployed spike strips near Lake Washington Road. Mr. Morrison faces felony charges of violating the terms of a protection order, automobile theft and failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.
