On 31 May 13 Deputy Sheriff Reeder and the Dunham Fire Department were dispatched to a vehicle fire at 2010 Burnfield Road, Vincent. The heavy duty Ford pickup truck’s owner, Dean L. Jett, age 61, lives across the street at 2067 Burnfield Road, and parked the vehicle at 10 pm the previous evening. A neighbor informed Mr. Jett at 1 am that his truck was fully engulfed in flames. The fire, which was quickly extinguished, appears to have originated in electrical wiring in the engine compartment. No foul play is suspected.

On 31 May 13 Vivian Baumgard, age 50, 730 Mayle Ridge Road, Cutler, reported her family departed their residence at 8 am and when she returned at 7 pm she discovered and unknown suspect(s) had broken a window on a door to gain access to her home. Mrs. Baumgard and her husband determined a shotgun, a jewelry box, fifteen Vicodin pills, a Nintendo DS and a total of approximately $50 were stolen from the home. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 31 May 13 Bobbie J. Janic, age 58, 11489 State Route 555, Cutler, reported sometime between 6:40 am and 2:20 pm an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered her home. Ms. Janic said the suspect(s) attempted to throw a flower pot through a window and ultimately threw a propane tank through her bedroom window. Stolen from the home were an iPad and a jewelry box containing various items. This case remains under investigation (129).

On 31 May 13 Deputy Sheriff Carr requested summonses for Don E. Groghan, age 42, 1469 Coal Run Road, Marietta, and Jason D. McDonald, age 41, 1435 Coal Run Road, for disorderly conduct. The two men have an ongoing feud and have recently been harassing each other. Mr. McDonald previously sent Mr. Groghan a number of taunting and unwanted text messages to Mr. Groghan. That morning Mr. Groghan stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Coal Run and Sandhill roads and seeing Mr. McDonald pulling up behind him, intentionally stopped for a long period of time. Mr. Groghan then exited his vehicle to confront Mr. McDonald, punched the driver side door and slapped the hat off Mr. McDonald’s head.

On 31 May 13 Jason M. Cade, age 36, 1556 McGill Road, Vincent, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) stole a Honda generator from his garage. The generator’s value is approximately $2,500. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 31 May 13 Lt. Thorpe issued a citation to Richard C. Decker III, age 22, 123 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, for operating a vehicle without a license. Lt. Thorpe originally stopped Mr. Decker for speeding and driving erratically on Pike Street near Acme Street in Marietta.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Matthew Allen Altizer, age 20, 2215 Highland Road, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Altizer was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 May 13 at 5:19 pm.

Ashley Marrie Hutson, age 30, 1311 Staunton Avenue, Parkersburg, for theft and for operating a vehicle without a license, both misdemeanors. Hutson was arrested at Wal-Mart by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 May 13 at 6:15 pm.

Ronald Lee Kelbaugh, age 68, 729 Zanesville Street, Beverly, for failing to pay income tax and for two counts of passing bad checks, all misdemeanors. Kelbaugh was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 May 13 at 10:10 pm.

Lisa Ann Pasquale, age 34, 719 E. 344th Street, East Lake, OH, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Pasquale turned herself in to Corrections Officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 13 at 12:07 pm.

Linda Elizabeth Slonaker, age 30, 1216 Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, for theft, assault and for driving under an FRA suspended license, all misdemeanors. Slonaker was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 13 at 12:53 pm.

Curtis Jay Noel, age 51, 255 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Noel was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 13 at 9:41 pm.
