Archive of 05-29-13

On 29 May 13 Barbara M. Abrams, age 48, 25 Wood Drive, Little Hocking, reported around 9 May the lock was cut off her storage unit at 21 Clifton Road, Belpre. Examining the contents of the storage unit, Ms. Abrams determined two sewing machines, ten Longaberger baskets, clothing, household goods and collectibles were stolen. The total value of the stolen items is approximately $2,150. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 29 May 13 a three year old Cutler resident was life-flighted to Charleston Area Medical Center after he was kicked in the head by a horse in a pasture on King Avenue in Cutler. The child was walking through a field to his grandfather’s home when the horse approached him as he walked behind it. The child did not suffer internal injuries or swelling in his head and could be released as early as the next day (509).

On 29 May 13 Joe F. Lambeth, age 55, 803 Washington Street, Marietta, was traveling up a steep hill when his Ford Ranger’s engine began to struggle under the weight of a tractor engine he was hauling in the bed. The engine began to smoke and then caught fire near 1060 Grindstone Drive, Marietta. The truck was fully engulfed in flames when the Warren Fire Department arrived but firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. The truck and tractor engine were both a total loss (713).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Gary Lee Losey II, age 31, 818 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Losey was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 May 13 at 10:46 am.

Brittany Maria Martin, age 27, 100 Linwood Avenue, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Martin was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 May 13 at 10:58 am.
