On 15 May 13 Deputy Sheriff Reeder and the Caldwell Fire Department responded to a fire at the residence of Joshua Little, age 21, at 37 Elba Hill Road, Macksburg. Mr. Little was burning debris when the fire spread to a nearby porch, causing it to catch fire. The fire then spread to other areas of the home and caused significant damage.

On 15 May 13 Donald C. Rauch, age 73, 2071 Rauch Road, Fleming, reported at some point during the night an unknown suspect(s) stole several sections of aluminum roofing from a scrap pile on his property. This case remains under investigation (129).

On 15 May 13 Daniel Brumbaugh, age 65, 1189 Farson Avenue, Belpre, reported he believes on either 25 Apr or 26 Apr an unknown suspect(s) entered a storage building on his property and stole approximately 400 DVDs. This case remains under investigation (129).

On 15 May 13 Lance J. Matheny, age 51, 3360 Cats Creek Road, Macksburg, reported sometime between noon and 2 pm the previous day a .38 Taurus revolver was stolen from his garage. This case remains under investigation (509).

On 15 May 13 Nicole Cook, age 29, 289 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, reported she departed her residence at 7:30 am and when she returned at 8:30 pm she discovered her boyfriend’s Xbox was missing. Along with the Xbox, fourteen games, a controller and a text pad were stolen. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 15 May 13 Lt. Stackpole and Deputy Sheriff Blamble responded to reports of a male screaming for help. In the area of 11753 State Route 60, Lowell, the Deputies observed Ashton M. Krofft, age 18, 610 Military Road, Zanesville, shouting for help as he was swimming across the Muskingum River. Mr. Krofft stated he consumed eight grams of psilocybin mushrooms and smoked two marijuana joints and said a group of unknown individuals were chasing after him. As a precaution, the Lowell Fire Department transported Mr. Krofft to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to possible hypothermia. At the hospital Mr. Krofft was determined not to be hypothermic and found in possession of a marijuana pipe. Upon his release from hospital, Mr. Krofft was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 15 May 13 Terry McCarty, age 50, 125 Hickory Street, Lower Salem, reported he recently learned two checks were written on his bank account without his authorization. The first check was issued to Mr. McCarty’s son, Christian, age 21, for $100 and dated 18 Feb 13 and the second was issued to Par Mar for $131.75 and dated 10 May 13. Questioned about the check written to him, Christian admitted stealing the check from his father’s checkbook and forging his father’s signature. Christian said he did so because he did not have a job and needed the money. Terry stated he recognized the handwriting on the other check and believed it to be that of his other son, Andrew, age 24. Andrew said he was with Christian at the Pit Stop when his brother handed him the check to pay for gasoline and other items. Andrew stated he assumed his father gave the check to his brother but admitted it was wrong to forge his father’s signature. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Hunter arrested Christian for forgery and theft and Andrew for forgery and transported them to the Washington County Jail.

DRUG TRAFFICKING ARREST

This morning, Agents of the Major Crimes Task Force arrested a local source of prescription drugs. Trenna L. Tucker, age 26, 104 Dawes Circle, Marietta, sold a confidential informant five morphine pills on 16 Jan and one morphine pill and three Vicodin pills on 18 Jan. Tucker remains incarcerated in the Washington County Jail without bond pending her initial court appearance on Thursday at 8 am.

The three drug trafficking charges against Ms.Tucker are third, fourth and fifth degree felonies. The third degree felony is a result of the transaction on 16 Jan, which took place in the presence of Ms. Tucker's young child.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Trenna Lynn Tucker, age 26, 104 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for three felony counts of trafficking in drugs. Tucker was arrested at her residence by Detective Lockhart of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 13 at 11:12 am.

Christian Mark McCarty, age 21, 125 Hickory Street, Lower Salem, for theft and forgery, both felonies. McCarty was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 13 at 7:25 pm.

Andrew Lee McCarty, age 24, 125 Hickory Street, Lower Salem, for forgery, a felony. McCarty was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 13 at 7:25 pm.
