On 12 May 13 Sgt. Anderson arrested Jack D. Chambers, age 26, 904 Glendale Road, Marietta, for OVI and failure to signal. Responding to a report of an intoxicated driver, Sgt. Anderson noticed Mr. Chambers failed to signal when turning into the Pit Stop parking lot from State Route 821. Sgt. Anderson detected a strong odor of alcohol on Mr. Chambers and observed he had glassy, bloodshot eyes. Mr. Chambers was uncooperative and refused to exit his vehicle to perform field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail, Mr. Chambers tested .194 BAC.

On 12 May 13 Tristan Lee, age 27, 12712 Cable Road SW, Pataskala, reported he left his truck stuck in the mud near the 200 block of Muskingum River Road and when he returned several hours later he found several items missing. Stolen from the truck were a winch, a MIG welder, two tow straps, a CD player and a quantity of .40 caliber ammunition. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 12 May 13 the Salem Fire Department transported a three year of Salem Township resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to a dog bite. The family pit bull attacked the child while he was playing outside with enough force to rip the child’s shirt off. The dog, which had not exhibited aggression in the past, was seized and quarantined at the Humane Society. The child was not seriously injured (1104).

On 12 May 13 a thirty-one year old Belpre resident reported an acquaintance threatened him for cooperating in a police investigation involving stolen property found at the suspect’s house. The victim said he was not scared of the suspect but commented that he feared the suspect may contact his wife while she was alone and he was at work. Sgt. Anderson contacted the suspect and advised him to cease having any contact with the victim. This case remains under investigation.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Doug Billington Copeland, age 52, 1400 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Copeland was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Cook of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 May 13 at 1:11 am.

Jack Dewey Chambers, age 26, 904 Glendale Road, Marietta, for OVI and failure to signal, both misdemeanors. Chambers was arrested on State Route 821 by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 May 13 at 1:58 am.
