On 25 Apr 13 Deputy Sheriff Hunter issued a citation to Linda E. Slonaker, age 30, 1216 Williamson Avenue, New Matamoras, for traveling 84 mph in a 65 mph zone. Deputy Hunter stopped Ms. Stout on State Route 7 near Dana Road in Newport Township.

On 25 Apr 13 Deputy Sheriff Hunter issued a citation to Carol L. Stout, age 47, 605 E. College Street, Alliance, OH, for traveling 82 mph in a 65 mph zone. Deputy Hunter stopped Ms. Stout on Interstate 77 near milepost twelve in Salem Township.

On 25 Apr 13 Sgt. Anderson issued a citation to Jason E. Jones, age 33, 2000 Bird Street, Parkersburg, for traveling 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Sgt. Anderson stopped Mr. Jones on Interstate 77 near milepost six in Muskingum Township.

On 25 Apr 13 Sgt. Anderson issued a citation to Gail D. Gray, age 73, 2799 Camden Pointe Drive, Sherills Ford, NC, for traveling 84 mph in a 65 mph zone. Sgt. Anderson stopped Ms. Gray on Interstate 77 near milepost fifteen in Aurelius Township.

On 25 Apr 13 Cortney N. Hale, age 23, 3306 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle and stole $350, a bag containing Avon makeup and her full prescription of Adderall. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 25 Apr 13 Deputy Sheriff Underwood issued a citation to Harold D. Merckle Jr., age 58, 865 State Route 260, New Matamoras, for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired in February 2013. Deputy Underwood stopped Mr. Merckle on State Route 260 near Fourth Street in New Matamoras.

On 25 Apr 13 Jeffery C. Beaver, age 43, 17824 State Route 550, Marietta, reported a female acquaintance used his debit card to make withdrawals in excess of $2,600. Mr. Beaver gave the acquaintance his debit card and PIN to use for emergencies while she was vacation but stated he did not give her permission to use the card as frequently as she did. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 25 Apr 13 Carole L. Wright, age 49, 200 Walnut Drive Apt. A, Whipple, reported her recently filled prescription for Xanax was stolen from her residence on 23 Apr 13. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 25 Apr 13 a Newport resident reported his thirteen year old son was assaulted during lunch at Frontier High School that morning. The teenager suffered a minor concussion and received treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital. The assailant was suspended and transferred to the alternative school. Both the victim and his father declined to pursue charges in the matter (910).

On 25 Apr 13 Angela K. Dowler, age 49, 250 Ferncliff Drive, Marietta, reported she was involved in a disagreement with her live-in boyfriend. Intoxicated and arguing over personal finances, Ms. Dowler said no threats were made and no physical violence took place. Ms. Dowler volunteered to stay with a relative in order to avoid further problems that evening. As a result, Deputy Sheriff McLeish closed this case as unfounded.

On 25 Apr 13 Pamela M. Hansen, age 53, 1220 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, reported at some point during the past day an unknown suspect(s) stole a hand drawn cart, a dog kennel and an igloo shaped dog box from her property. This case remains under investigation (129).

MAJOR DEALER IN PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARRESTED

On April 24, 2013 at 2:00 pm, Agents with the Washington County Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 1209 Williamson Avenue, Lot 33B, New Matamoras, and seized 308 Oxycodone tablets with an approximate street value of $9,000. Also seized was over $3,000 in cash and a small amount of marijuana.

Agents arrested Michael Slonaker, age 55, of the above listed address on two felony counts of possession of Oxycodone tablets. One charge was a second degree felony and the other a third degree felony. Slonaker remains incarcerated in the Washington County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Slonaker is believed to be one of the major prescription drug dealers in Washington County.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Carlos Munoz, age 39, 612 Ninth Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 16 Apr 13.

Cynthia A. Allen, age 25, 3501 Broad Street, Parkersburg, for breach of recognizance for failing to appear to serve fifteen days in jail on 8 Apr 13.

Dakota R. Waite, age 21, 13120 State Route 676, Waterford, for operating a vehicle without a license and speeding on 17 Apr 13.

Alex J. Handschumacher, age 35, 113 Dayton Road, Marietta, for failing to appear for jury trial on 15 Apr 13.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Shawn Antonia Williams, age 22, 969 E. Mount Street, Columbus, for three counts of felonious assault and for felony charges of breach of recognizance and tampering with evidence. Williams was picked up in Franklin County by Deputy Sheriff Doak and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Apr 13 at 2:1` 2 pm.

Christopher Adam Lent, age 26, 328 1/2 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Lent was arrested by Patrolman Warden at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Apr 13 at 3:04 pm.

Wayne Hazen Hunter, age 45, 211 Wooster Street, Marietta, for a felony charge of domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of his probation. Hunter was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Apr 13 at 9:42 pm.
