On 18 Apr 13 the Beverly Fire Department transported Brooke M. Miller, age 40, 50 Flint Run Road, Waterford, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries suffered during an assault by her husband, Michael, age 44. Mrs. Miller suffered injuries to her face and neck after confronting her husband for having alcohol in their home while she was on probation. Intoxicated, having consumed at least a dozen beers, Mr. Miller repeatedly struck his wife and shoved her to the floor. Mr. Miller claimed his wife initiated the incident but admitted shoving her in anger. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Holbert arrested Mr. Miller for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Mr. Miller tested .205 BAC.

On 18 Apr 13 a caller reported finding unidentified bones near a fire pit on the shore of the Ohio River near milepost thirty-nine on State Route 7. At the scene Deputy Sheriff Augenstein observed several vertebrae, ribs and a portion of a pelvis that he could not identify as human or animal. Viewing photos of the bones in question, the Montgomery County medical examiner definitively identified the remains as being from an animal.

On 18 Apr 13 Deputy Sheriff Holbert arrested Robert N. Mease Jr., age 36, 55 Franklin Street, Watertown, for domestic violence. Angry about his live-in girlfriend’s alleged infidelity, Mr. Mease kicked his girlfriend, Jessica McIntyre, age 30, in the leg. Ms. McIntyre said Mr. Mease also belittled her and bombarded her with profanities. In addition, Ms. McIntyre stated Mr. Mease drew his fist back in a threatening manner and caused her to fear for her safety.

On 18 Apr 13 the vice principal at Warren High School reported a sixteen year old Belpre resident sent a threatening text message. Disciplined for disrupting class, the teenager threatened to pull a knife on the vice principal in a text message to another student. The vice principal said the student did not have a knife and commented that he did not feel it was a serious threat. The student was suspended from school as a result of the threat and is expected to be expelled for the remainder of the school year. Additionally, the teenager’s probation officer will be filing charges on the juvenile for violating his probation (912).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Michael Phillip Miller, age 44, 50 Flint Run Road, Waterford, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested on Tick Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 13 at 3:30 am.

Thomas Kenneth Swisher Sr., age 49, Route 28 North, Springfield, WV, for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Swisher was arrested at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 13 at 3:40 pm.

Robert Norton Mease Jr., age 36, 55 Franklin Street, Watertown, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Mease was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 13 at 6:54 pm.

Dennis Charles Crockett, age 35, 108 Third Street, Belpre, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property, driving under a suspended license, not using a child restraint and for operating a vehicle with fictitious plates. Crockett was arrested on State Route 619 by Patrolman Nichols of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 13 at 9:29 pm.

Brandon Paul Johnson, age 34, 5141 Lee Row, Maple Heights, OH, for breach of recognizance, speeding and for being in possession of an open container of alcohol, all misdemeanors. Johnson was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 13 at 9:54 pm.
