On 7 Apr 13 Lt. Rhodes arrested Derek J. Hesson, age 27, 21124 State Route 676, Marietta, for .17 breath OVI and for driving left of center. Observing Mr. Hesson’s vehicle traveling across the center line when making two turns, Lt. Rhodes conducted a traffic stop on Groves Avenue. Mr. Hesson had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred his speech and was unsteady on his feet. Mr. Hesson subsequently performed poorly on field sobriety tests. At the Washington County Jail Mr. Hesson tested .180 BAC.

On 7 Apr 13 an anonymous caller reported a domestic dispute was transpiring at 39 Townhall Road, Marietta. Interviewing the involved parties, Sgt. Mankins determined that the alleged suspect slapped her daughter because she was cursing during an argument with her mother over a stained article of clothing. Consequently, Sgt. Mankins closed this case as unfounded.

On 7 Apr 13 Chase M. Parsons, age 21, 15736 Waterford Road, Waterford, reported at some point during the past week an unknown suspect(s) broke a window on the north side of his trailer. This case remains under investigation (129).

On 7 Apr 13 a State Route 7 resident reported finding drug paraphernalia in her seventeen year old son’s room. Granted permission to search the property and the teenager’s room, Deputy Sheriff White discovered a marijuana pipe and a digital scale. Deputy White counseled the teenager on the dangers of drug use and confiscated the contraband for destruction.

On 7 Apr 13 Delbert G. Newlon, age 67, 10775 State Route 550, Vincent, reported at some point during the past week an unknown suspect(s) stole a green Kawasaki Bayou ATV from his property. Mr. Newlon estimates the value of the ATV is $3,500. This case remains under investigation (1007).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Derek Joseph Hesson, age 27, 21124 State Route 676, Marietta, for .17 breath OVI and for driving left center, both misdemeanors. Hesson was arrested in Marietta by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 13 at 2:44 am.

Lonnie Merle Starcher, age 45, 87 Teller Road, Little Hocking, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Starcher was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Augenstein and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 13 at 7:03 pm.

Michael Scott Orr, age 21, 316 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, for receiving stolen property, a felony. Orr was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 13 at 9:09 pm.

Sony Carlos Love, age 31, 1020 Caywood Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Love was arrested at Kroger in Marietta by Patrolman Estes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 13 at 11:07 pm.

Nathan Allen Modlin, age 45, 104 Theis Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Modlin was arrested in Marietta by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Apr 13 at 11:23 pm.
