On 30 Mar 13 Briana N. Davis, age 24, 2321 Equestrian Drive Apt. 3B, Miamisburg, OH, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at her parents’ residence at 1145 Lynch Church Road, Marietta. Stolen from the vehicle were a GPS, a Fossil brand purse and its contents, various personal belongings and approximately $20. The total value of the stolen property is approximately $660. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 30 Mar 13 Lt. Stackpole and the Newport Fire Department were dispatched to a brush fire on the property of Donovan J. VanWey, age 49, at 36075 State Route 7, Newport. Mr. VanWey was burning debris when the wind caused the fire to spread to the surrounding area. Mr. VanWey attempted to extinguish the fire himself but was unsuccessful. He was uninjured during his attempt. Lt. Stackpole informed Mr. VanWey that a burn ban was in effect and advised him that he could be charged if a similar incident occurred in the future.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jason Wayne Duffield, age 33, 620 Rosemont Avenue, South Charleston, WV, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Duffield was arrested on Pike Street by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 13 at 8:40 pm.

William Gary Surface, age 32, 600 Heath Road Unit 1083, Myrtle Beach, SC, for aggravated menacing and disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Surface was arrested on Front street by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Mar 13 at 8:40 pm.
