On 27 Mar 13 Lt. Rhodes arrested Richard A. Hobbs, age 48, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. A clerk at the Pit Stop reported late that afternoon that Mr. Hobbs purchased a twenty-four ounce can of beer and was possibly consuming it in the parking lot and annoying customers. Located walking along the northbound ramp onto I-77 at exit six, Mr. Hobbs had an odor of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. At the Washington County Jail Mr. Hobbs tested .180 BAC.

On 27 Mar 13 Alice Nay, age 38, 9105 State Route 550, Vincent, reported she discovered drug paraphernalia in her estranged husband’s belongings. Deputy Sheriff Augenstein recovered the items and arranged for their destruction.

On 27 Mar 13 Tabitha Way, age 31, 29465 State Route 7, Marietta, reported she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, Frederick McKitrick, age 30. Accusing Ms. Way of cheating on him, Mr. McKitrick attempted to pull her down stairs and struck her twice with a high chair. During the incident Mr. McKitrick also grabbed Ms. Way by the hair and poured a can of beer over her head and ripped a phone cord from the wall to keep her from calling for help. Ms. Way received treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital and was determined to have a broken wrist. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff Carr arrested Mr. McKitrick for a felony charge of disrupting public service and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Mar 13 Deputy Sheriff Metts arrested a seventeen year old Little Hocking resident on a charge of delinquency for inducing panic and disorderly conduct. The previous day the Warren High School student sent a text message to a friend stating he was “about to go homicidal on that drama infested school.” The teenager also advised his friend to wear red the following day “just for caution.” The teenager, who was suspended from school, admitted sending the text messages because he was angry with other students at the school.

On 27 Mar 13 Kenneth E. Strahler, age 65, 116 Alta Street, Marietta, reported sometime during the past several days a trail camera was stolen from his property at 850 Hunter Avenue, Marietta. This case remains under investigation (129).

On 27 Mar 13 Tonya L. McMaster, age 38, 550 Rummer Road, Marietta, reported sometime between noon and 4 pm an unknown suspect(s) entered her home and stole a large television and a Playstation with two games. The total value of the stolen items is over $1,200. This case remains under investigation (910).

On 27 Mar 13 Ross Stevens, age 24, 2419 Indian Run Road, Marietta, reported that evening his girlfriend, Rebecca Sergent, age 22, 1320 Caywood Road, Marietta, stole a muzzleloader from his home and was possibly going to sell it to purchase narcotics. Located at a residence on Washington Street and questioned, Ms. Sergent denied stealing the weapon and claimed it was given to her by Mr. Stevens. Despite Ms. Sergent’s denial, Deputy Sheriff McKee arrested her for theft and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Mar 13 Sgt. Mankins requested a summons for Amy D. Bickham, age 38, 812 Phillips Street, Marietta, for obstructing official business. Ms. Bickham failed to contact the Sheriff’s Office when she came in contact with a wanted fugitive despite being previously ordered by Deputies to phone the Sheriff’s Office if she happened to do so.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Justin Ryan Schroeder, age 31, 6235 Fifteenmile Creek Road, Wingett Run, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Schroeder was arrested at the Courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Mar 13 at 2:07 pm.

Tyler Joseph McMahan, age 20, 305 Lee Street, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. McMahan was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Greathouse of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Mar 13 at 2:34 pm.

Richard Aaron Hobbs, age 48, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hobbs was arrested along Interstate 77 by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Mar 13 at 5:31 pm.

Frederick Gale McKitrick, age 30, 29465 State Route 7, Marietta, for a felony charge of disrupting public service and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. McKitrick was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Mar 13 at 6:18 pm.

Rebecca Lou Sergent, age 22, 1320 Caywood Road, Marietta, for theft of a firearm, a felony. Sergent was arrested on Washington Street by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Mar 13 at 10:09 pm.
