On 21 Mar 13 Sgt. Tornes requested a summons for Herbert L. Nunn, age 38, 10 Second Street, Vincent, for failure to register a change of address as a registered sex offender. Last month, Mr. Nunn failed to properly inform Sgt. Tornes of an extended trip he was taking to Texas, which was required due to his status as a sex offender.

On 21 Mar 13 an employee of US Infrastructure Corporation reported that afternoon the sending unit for an underground utility locator was stolen from a phone box near the intersection of State Route 26 and Fifteenmile Creek Road in Lawrence Township. The cost to replace the device is approximately $1,000. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 21 Mar 13 the Reno Fire Department transported a thirty-two year old Marietta resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to an accidental overdose on prescription medication. Interviewing a family member of the victim, Deputy Sheriff Hunter concluded the overdose was accidental and not the result of a suicide attempt.

On 21 Mar 13 Jessica L. Williams, age 25, 570 High Street, Macksburg, reported she was involved in an altercation with her husband, Joshua, age 31. During an argument over a difference of opinions, Mrs. Williams said her husband grabbed her by the throat and shoved her against a wall. Mrs. Williams retaliated by striking her husband in the nose and causing it to bleed. Mrs. Williams attempted to flee in her vehicle but was unable to do so after her mother in law arrived at the residence and parked behind her vehicle. Mr. Williams continued his assault on his wife outside the home, grabbing her neck as she sat in her vehicle. Finally able to escape, Mrs. Williams fled to a neighbor’s residence. Based on his investigation, Deputy Holbert arrested Mr. Williams for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 21 Mar 13 Deputy Sheriff McPeek issued a citation to Nathan Bunner, age 28, 21446 Broadwell Street, Stewart, for driving under a suspended license, for not wearing a seat belt and for operating a vehicle with fictitious plates. Deputy McPeek originally stopped Mr. Bunner for driving at night with no headlights near the intersection of State Route 555 and Big Run Road in Fairfield Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Christopher Arthur Young, age 45, 101 Theis Avenue, Marietta, for OVI, failure to reinstate his operator’s license and failure to signal, all misdemeanors. Young was arrested on Third Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 13 at 3:22 am.

Corey Wayne Cowan, age 22, 729 Middle Street, Belpre, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for operating a vehicle with expired registration, both misdemeanors. Cowan was arrested in Belpre by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 13 at 3:47 am.

Joshua Lee Williams, age 31, 570 High Street, Macksburg, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Williams was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff R. Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 13 at 1:20 pm.

Duane Edward Hough II, age 38, 8415 State Route 550, Vincent, for a felony charge of receiving stolen property and misdemeanor charges of obstructing official business and violating the terms of his probation. Hough was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 13 at 2:21 pm.
