On 18 Mar 13 Ethan W. Howell, age 19, 135 Mill Street, Waterford, reported he was assaulted by his father during an argument over performing vehicle maintenance. Mr. Howell claimed his father struck him repeatedly in the face and continued the barrage after being shoved to the floor. However, Mr. Howell exhibited no injuries and his story was contradicted by his mother and father. Mr. Howell’s father said his son was in a state of rage and stated that he put his son in a bear hug and held him until he calmed. Mr. Howell packed belongings and commented he was moving to a relative’s residence. Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Augenstein closed this case as unfounded.

On 18 Mar 13 Lt. Rhodes and Deputy Sheriff Underwood responded to a disturbance on Hollywood Drive in Little Hocking. Witnesses initially reported Justin Rexroad, age 29, was acting strangely and brandishing a knife and baseball bat. Mr. Rexroad’s wife stated her husband ingested five or ten of his prescription Suboxone pills and earlier referred to himself as Abraham Lincoln, JFK and Jesus. The Deputies determined no crime was committed but arrested Mr. Rexroad at the request of his Probation Officer.

On 18 Mar 13 Larry R. Allen, age 59, 905 Moody Ridge Road, Belpre, reported a wall charger for a metal detector was delivered in his mail on 16 Mar and before he could retrieve the package an unknown suspect(s) opened the box and stole the charger. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 18 Mar 13 the Sheriff’s Office assisted the Beverly Police Department in the investigation of the near drowning of a two year old boy. The boy was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital by the Beverly-Waterford Fire Department and transferred to Children’s Hospital in Columbus after being found unresponsive in the bathtub by a household member. The household member was giving the child a bath and briefly left the boy unattended to prepare an evening snack. The child is on life support but is showing signs of improvement. This case remains under investigation.

Stacy R. Robinson Jr., age 25, 1206 Colonial Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 12 Mar 13.

Corey Smearman, age 24, 204 Seventh Street, Beverly, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 11 Mar 13.

John Wooten, age 21, 1205 Ninth Street Apt. 410, Vienna, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 12 Mar 13.

Wayne A. Rhodes, age 24, 4080 Newbury Road, Little Hocking, for failing to appear for a hearing on 11 Mar 13.

Tumarcus A. Steele, age 20, 7334 Victoria Court, Reynoldsburg, OH, for failing to appear for a hearing on 11 Mar 13.

Justin A. Tucker, age 30, 700 Barclay Street Lot 5, Belpre, for failing to appear for a hearing on 11 Mar 13.

Paul M. Carrington, age 43, 1615 Franklin Avenue, Belpre, for failing to appear for pretrial on 6 Mar 13.

Keith A. Drake, age 26, 829 Ridge Street, Marietta, for failing to appear for a hearing on 11 Mar 13.

Pebble M. Longfellow, age 27, 2289 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, for failing to appear for a hearing on 11 Mar 13.

Harrison Featherstone, age 28, 2511 Brocton Court, Columbus, failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on an order to show cause on 12 Mar 13.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Carrie Ann Metz, age 32, 1515 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Metz was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 13 at 11:03 am.

Phillip Edward Pruden, age 32, 852 Greene Street Apt. 2, Marietta, for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony. Pruden was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 13 at 3:15 pm.

Tara Elaine Burdette, age 32, 131 Clark Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Burdette was arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 13 at 4:40 pm.

Justin Lee Rexroad, age 29, 45 Lord Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Rexroad was arrested on Bright Road by Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 13 at 5:58 pm.

John Lewis Lindsey II, age 36, 230 East Henniger Road, Lowell, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Lindsey was arrested at his residence by Lt. Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 13 at 7:31 pm.
