Deputy Sheriff McKee is attempting to identify the owner of a small black safe that was recovered under a bridge in the vicinity of Braun Road and Mill Branch Road in Dunham Township. On 5 Feb 13 Gennia M. Carte, age 49, 34353 State Route 7, Newport, reported she was involved in an altercation with her live-in boyfriend, David C. Morgan, age 51. Intoxicated and arguing, the dispute escalated into a physical fight. Ms. Carte said Mr. Morgan struck her in the nose, scratched her chest several times and threw an ashtray at her. At the scene, Sgt. Reeder and Deputy Sheriffs Augenstein, Holiday and Underwood found a ball of hair that Ms. Carte stated Mr. Morgan ripped from her head. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Morgan admitted wrestling with Ms. Carte and said he broke a glass plate on a table and threw a full can of beer at a wall. Based on their investigation, Deputy Augenstein arrested Mr. Morgan for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Mr. Morgan tested .122 BAC.

FELONIOUS ASSAULT ARREST

A fifty year old Lowell resident received treatment for a severe leg laceration following a stabbing at his residence early yesterday evening. Edward D. Binegar, 6950 State Route 60, Lowell, suffered the injury during a dispute with his stepdaughter, Angela D. Myers, age 18. Arguing over household chores, Ms. Myers retrieved a knife from a kitchen drawer because Mr. Binegar was holding an aluminum broom.

Seeing the knife, Mr. Binegar said he shoved his stepdaughter to the floor and kicked her because she was still holding the knife. At some point while she was on the floor, Ms. Myers stabbed Mr. Binegar in the leg. Due to the fact that Ms. Myers chose to retrieve a knife and stab Mr. Binegar rather than retreating from the confrontation, Deputy Sheriff McKee arrested Ms. Myers for felonious assault.

Ms. Myers remains incarcerated in the Washington County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
