On 20 Jan 13 Rebecca Rowland, age 39, 522 Fifth Street, Marietta, reported sometime this month an unknown suspect(s) entered her deceased father’s vacant home at 13915 State Route 550, Fleming. Ms. Rowland said several articles of jewelry were stolen as well as $78. The total value of the stolen property is in excess of $3,500. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 20 Jan 13 Charles Haught III, age 29, 1083 Reed Road, Marietta, reported he was away from his residence between 5:30 pm and 7 pm and at some point during that timeframe an unknown suspect(s) pried open a door to his home. From inside the home the suspect(s) stole over $700 from a metal tin in his living room. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 20 Jan 13 The owner of Lang’s Farm Equipment, 100 Bender Road, Marietta, reported around 1:15 pm his father noticed a window on one of the business’ front doors was shattered. An audible alarm sounded when the glass broke and it does not appear the suspect(s) gained entry into the building. This case remains under investigation (509).

On 20 Jan 13 Jenifer McDuffy, age 41, 745 Coal Run Road, Marietta, reported following an argument over money and her children, her live-in boyfriend, Patrick Kesselring, age 41, threw an object and shattered the mirror on her dresser. Mr. Kesselring subsequently shoved Ms. McDuffy against the dresser, forcing her to brace herself with her hands on shards of broken glass. Ms. McDuffy, who is fourteen weeks pregnant, suffered minor cuts to her hands and stated she feared for her safety during the incident. As a result, Lt. Gherke arrested Mr. Kesselring on a charge of felony domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 20 Jan 13 Norman Wynn, age 81, 2515 Bender Road, Marietta, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a pair of pants containing $100 and two credit cards. Upon further inspection, Mr. Wynn determined two .22 revolvers were also stolen. This case remains under investigation (509).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Adam Joseph Teets, age 29, 47 Lookout Avenue, Monongahela, PA, for OVI and for failure to yield, both misdemeanors. Teets was arrested at the intersection of Third and Greene streets by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 3:50 am.

Justin Allen Harris, age 30, 110 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Harris was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 12:53 pm.

Richard Dexter Arnett, age 68, 108 Aurora Street, Paden City, WV, for theft, a misdemeanor. Arnett was arrested in New Matamoras by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 4:07 pm.

Patrick Eugene Kesselring, age 41, 745 Coal Run Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Kesselring was arrested at his residence by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 6:30 pm.

Jared Wayne Philpot, age 39, 1005 Third Street, Marietta, for breaking and entering, a felony. Philpot was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 6:42 pm.

Carrie Ann Metz, age 31, 1515 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for abusing harmful intoxicants, a misdemeanor. Metz was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 9:15 pm.

Thaddeus Alan Heiss, age 50, 295 Offenberger Lane, Lowell, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Heiss was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jan 13 at 11:35 pm.
