Archive of 01-12-13

On 12 Jan 13 the owner of Southeastern Goods & Trade, 632 Main Street, Waterford, reported he caught a shoplifter leaving the store without paying for a camouflage hat and gloves. Though he denied stealing the items, the goods were found concealed around the waistband of James Bailey, age 28, 546 Old Country Road, Waverly, WV. Mr. Bailey initially provided false identifying information but was later identified through additional sources. As well as items stolen from Southeastern Goods, Deputy Sheriff Holiday found other items in Mr. Bailey’s possession that appeared to have stolen. Based on his investigation, Deputy Holiday arrested Mr. Bailey for obstructing official business, two counts of falsification and four counts of theft.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Christopher Edward Byrd, age 24, 209 Lee Street, Belpre, for domestic violence, a felony. Byrd was arrested at his residence by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 13 at 11:36 am.

James Clifton Bailey, age 30, 546 Old Country Drive, Waverly, WV, for obstructing official business, two counts of falsification and four counts of theft, all misdemeanors. Bartimus was arrested on Main Street in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Holiday and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 13 at 3:29 pm.

Scott James Freeman, age 31, Beverly, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Freeman was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Schaad of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 13 at 9:19 pm.

Pebble Michelle Longfellow, age 27, 966 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. Longfellow was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 13 at 9:40 pm.

Eldris Samuel Hall, age 35, 100 A Lynnwood Avenue, Marietta, for violating the terms of a protection order, a felony. Hall was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 13 at 11:28 pm.

Joshua Alan Beaver, age 32, 101 Evans Street Apt. B11, New Matamoras, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Beaver was arrested in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Jan 13 at 11:43 pm.
