On 8 Jan 13 Deputy Sheriff Underwood requested a summons for Katie Caplinger, age 23, 135 Darnold Road, Cutler, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies were at a residence on Third Street in Lowell in search of a wanted suspect when they encountered Ms. Caplinger. Ms. Caplinger allowed the Deputies to search her purse, at which time they discovered a small quantity of marijuana and various drug paraphernalia.

On 8 Jan 13 Deputy Sheriff Schubert requested summonses for Roger K. Patterson, age 46, and Ellen Patterson, age 42, last known address 119 Warner Street, Marietta, for abandoning an animal and animal cruelty. An anonymous caller reported last seeing the Pattersons on 5 Jan as they were moving their belongings. At the home Deputy Schubert a dog in poor shape, living in squalid conditions. The dog was missing a large amount of hair and later determined untreated infections and mange.

On 8 Jan 13 Detective Johnson issued a citation to Albert Strange, age 80, 4373 Stout Lane, Beverly, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Detective Johnson stopped Mr. Strange near milepost seven on State Route 60 in Adams Township.

On 8 Jan 13 Esther K. Allen, age 52, 12787 State Route 676, Waterford, reported she was not feeling well the previous evening and family members visiting her home would not allow her to use the phone, fearing she would phone police. Ms. Allen temporarily retreated to her bedroom and when she exited a family member shoved her in the face and grabbed her shoulders. A squad responded to Ms. Allen’s home the following morning and transported her to Marietta Memorial Hospital for an unknown medical problem. This case remains under investigation (812).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Christopher Benjamin Woods, age 35, 734 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Woods was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Deem and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 13 at 9:52 am.

Kala Dawn Hall, age 29, 11068 Pond Creek Road, Rockport, WV, for illegal use of food stamps, a felony. Hall was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Doak and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 13 at 12:18 pm.

Justin Allen Tucker, age 30, 700 Barclay Street Apt. 5, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Tucker was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Augenstein and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 13 at 6:01 pm.
