On 30 Dec 12 Deputy Sheriff McKee requested
warrants for Joseph C. Hajj, age 32, 147 Main Avenue, Nitro,
WV, for felony charges of theft and passing bad checks. An employee
of Family Ford reported on 19 Dec Mr. Hajj paid for a 2013 Ford
truck with a fraudulent check for $52,654. Mr. Hajj has a history
of using fraudulent checks to purchase items and has active
warrants for similar activity in Georgia, Kentucky and West
Virginia and Gallia and Meigs counties in Ohio.
On 30 Dec 12 the Little Hocking Fire Department
transported a forty-five year old Belpre resident to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for physical and mental evaluation. The victim
ingested several of her medications and consumed multiple alcoholic
beverages along with them. The victim said she experienced problems
with her ex-boyfriend and commented that she wanted to fall
asleep and not wake up (129).
