On 14 Dec 12 Allen W. Johns, age 37, 1330 Paw
Paw Creek Road, Lower Salem, reported at some point during the
past week he believes an unknown suspect(s) poured water in
the gas tanks of a track hoe and a bulldozer parked on his property.
Mr. Johns estimates the damage to the equipment is $10,000.
This case remains under investigation (790).
On 14 Dec 12 Allen W. Murphy, age 55, 65 Stanley
Street, Newport, reported he was away from his residence between
1 pm on 12 Dec and 12:30 am on 13 Dec and during that time an
unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a total of approximately
$300 from multiple change jars in his residence. This case remains
under investigation (790).
On 14 Dec 12 Deputy Sheriff McConnell requested
a summons for a seventeen year old Fleming resident to appear
in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by possession of
drug paraphernalia. A student at the Washington County Career
Center informed school officials that the teenager was smoking
marijuana in his vehicle. When questioned, the juvenile admitted
being under the influence of marijuana. A search of his backpack
yielded a small quantity of marijuana as well as a homemade

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
James F. O’Brien II, age 35, Marietta,
for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
O’Brien was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Dec 12 at 7:20 pm.
Michael Keith Bass, age 25, 603 Main Street
Apt. A, Belpre, for operating a vehicle without a license, a
misdemeanor. Bass was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Cook of
the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Dec 12 at 9:45 pm.
