On 7 Dec 12 the assistant director of the Washington County Career Center reported a seventeen year old Lowell resident consumed alcohol on school grounds the previous day. The teenager admitted consuming approximately twelve ounces of wine while on a school bus and on school property. School officials wished to handle the matter through suspension/expulsion and requested no charges be filed in the case (912).

On 7 Dec 12 Deputy Sheriff Hunter arrested Roger D. Brister, age 40, 105 Sixth Street, Beverly, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Highly intoxicated after fourteen hours of drinking, Mr. Brister was depressed and made statements about harming himself. For his protection, Mr. Brister was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 7 Dec 12 an eighty-nine year old Marietta resident reported she was defrauded out of $1,600 during the past month. An unknown male contacted the victim on numerous occasions and requested money orders in the amounts of $900 and $700 in exchange for a $50,000 cash prize. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 7 Dec 12 Joseph P. Steed, age 45, 4924 Welch Road, Little Hocking, reported he was away from his residence between 6 am and 4:30 pm and during that timeframe an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a shotgun, two rifles, a compound bow and six arrows. This case remains under investigation (1104).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

David Lee McPherson II, age 35, 872 Bull Run Road, Waverly, WV, for aggravated vehicular assault, a felony. McPherson was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 12 at 10:20 am.

Roger Dale Brister, age 40, 105 Sixth Street, Beverly, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Brister was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Hunter and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 12 at 10:42 am.

Edward Dale Bailey, age 28, 921 14th Street, Parkersburg, for a felony charge of breaking and entering and a misdemeanor charge of theft. Bailey was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 12 at 12:36 pm.

Nicky Lee Lamp, age 39, 2209 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Lamp was arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 12 at 1:33 pm.

Samuel Emitt Jenkins, age 53, 402 Lynn Street, Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jenkins was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 12 at 2:55 pm.

Richard Eugene Adams, age 38, 704 Elm Street Apt. 2, Belpre, for OVI, failure to control, failure to reinstate his operator’s license, resisting arrest, hit-skip and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, all misdemeanors. Adams was arrested on State Route 174 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Dec 12 at 10:06 pm.
