On 11 Nov 12 Kermit Harris, age 63, 38400 State Route 7, Newport, reported he was away from his residence between 8 am and 11 pm and at some point during that timeframe an unknown suspect(s) stole a safe that contained a dozen gold rings and in excess of $1,500 in cash. This case remains under investigation (126).

On 11 Nov 12 Lori Likens, age 40, 136 Point Lookout Road, Friendly, WV, reported her purse was stolen during the time she and her husband patronized the Station Carryout later the previous evening. This case remains under investigation (208).

On 11 Nov 12 Ricky L. Beaver, age 51, 120 Woodrow Street, Marietta, reported he and his wife were involved in a dispute with their daughter, Ricky, age 18, over her failure to take her prescribed medication. Fearing their daughter may be involved in an accident if she left in her vehicle, Ms. Beaver’s parents hid her car keys. In retaliation, Ms. Beaver charged at her parents with scissors. When Mr. Beaver attempted to protect his wife, Ms. Beaver kicked him in the leg and groin. Though she initially claimed she was assaulted by her father, Ms. Beaver later admitted kicking her father and brandishing the scissors. Consequently, Deputy Sheriff Huffer arrested Ms. Beaver for domestic violence and transported them to the Washington County Jail.

On 11 Nov 12 Michael Stoffel, age 18, 100 Lincoln Circle Apt. 1, Marietta, reported he was involved in an argument with his girlfriend’s father at his residence on State Route 676 in Marietta. While Mr. Stoffel claimed his girlfriend’s father was the agitator in the confrontation, the alleged suspect blamed Mr. Stoffel for initiating the dispute. Due to the fact that both parties provided contradictory statements and there was no evidence to support Mr. Stoffel’s complaint, Deputy Sheriff R. Reeder closed this case as unfounded.
