Archive of 10-26-12

On 26 Oct 12 the Newport Fire Department transported Dean Booth, age 74, 260 Harris Street, Newport, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following a tractor-hay baler rollover. Mr. Booth suffered possible internal injuries when the baler rolled while he was working on it. Medical personnel said Mr. Booth did not appear to have any life threatening injuries.

On 26 Oct 12 Clarissa Dougherty, age 18, 622 Grand Street, Hockingport, OH, was attempting to park in a stall at 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent, when she accidentally pushed the accelerator, jumped a curb and struck a metal pole. Ms. Dougherty also struck the rear driver side fender of a parked Hyundai owned by Angela Dunn, 123 Elm Street, Belpre. The collision caused light damage to the right rear bumper of Ms. Dougherty’s Buick and moderate damage to Ms. Dunn’s vehicle (1090).

On 26 Oct 12 Earl Griffin, 2460 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, reported he recently noticed a truck hood and eight antique torches were missing from his garage. This case remains under investigation (1010).

On 26 Oct 12 the Fearing Fire Department transported Eugene C. Biehl, age 84, 140 Biehl Road, Whipple, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment following a utility vehicle rollover. Mr. Biehl was hauling a load of firewood when he appears to have accidentally placed the vehicle in reverse. The vehicle accelerated backwards and struck a tree stump, causing the rollover (126).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Delecia Dawn Davis, age 39, PO Box 112, Naugatuck, WV, for a felony charge of violating the terms of her probation and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Davis was arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Deputy Sheriff Deem and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 12 at 8:44 am.

Devann Georgette Wenzel, age 21, 60 Highland Ridge Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Wenzel was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 12 at 12:51 pm.

Chantae Renay Kanitz, age 26, 1000 Kemper Street Apt. 9, Parkersburg, for forgery, a felony. Kanitz was arrested in Common Pleas Court by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 12 at 5:24 pm.

Russell Lee Traugh, age 822 Belrock Avenue Apt. 9, Belpre, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Traugh was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 12 at 10:38 pm.

Jamie Jo Waterman, age 49, 107 Knox Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Waterman was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Oct 12 at 11:33 pm.
