On 23 Oct 12 Deputy Sheriff Schubert issued minor misdemeanor citations to Brian D. Long, age 42, 301 Pennock Drive, Beverly, for failing to register a dog and for failing to confine/restrain a dog. Earlier in the day residents in the area reported Mr. Long’s pit bull was loose and acting in an aggressive manner toward neighbors. Mr. Long could not explain why three of his dogs were loose but did say that he did not register his dogs because he did not want to pay the fees.

On 23 Oct 12 Deputy Sheriff Hunter requested a summons for a seventeen year old Vincent resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by possession of drug paraphernalia. Informed that the student was using drugs on the way to school at the Career Center, the assistant principal searched the student’s vehicle and located a piped fashioned from aluminum foil, an empty package of rolling papers and a plastic wrapper containing an unknown substance. The suspect admitted the contraband belonged to her and said the unknown substance was K2. Also at the Career Center three days later, Deputy Hunter requested a summons for a sixteen year old Vincent resident for delinquency by possession of marijuana. While searching a vehicle as a result of a tobacco violation, a school official discovered a marijuana joint in a pocket of the student’s coat.
