On 25 Sep 12 Terisa Amos, age 59, 20 Third Avenue, New Matamoras, reported sometime after 23 Sep an unknown suspect(s) entered a vacant home she owns at 91 Front Drive, New Matamoras. Ms. Amos said the suspect(s) stole copper wiring, copper piping, a number of copper fittings and cut the cords off several power tools. An investigation by Deputy Sheriff Hunter identified three suspects, one of which being Christopher T. Fluhart, age 19, 1308 Williamson Avenue Apt. 7C, New Matamoras. Questioned about the burglary, Mr. Fluhart admitted being involved and stated he, along with Mitch Erb, age 26, 50810 State Route 7, New Matamoras, and Paul W. Hendershot Jr., age 20, 40 Fourth Avenue, New Matamoras, planned to break into the house to make some easy money by stealing copper materials. Mr. Fluhart said they split up, collected as much copper as they could carry and cut numerous wires. The suspects then burned the plastic off the wires and sold the scrap to a recycling center the following day. Based on his investigation, Deputy Hunter filed charges on Fluhart, Erb and Hendershot for burglary and theft.
