On 13 Sep 12 Erin M. Adams, age 37, 5745 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported she was assaulted by her live-in boyfriend of six weeks, Timothy M. Smith, age 54. Following an argument over the end of their relationship, Mr. Smith asked Ms. Adams to move out of his house. While Ms. Adams was removing her belongings Mr. Smith was brusque and rude with her daughter so she intervened. Ms. Adams angered Mr. Smith, who then grabbed her by the neck. Ms. Adams stated Mr. Smith’s actions caused her to fear for her safety and she believed Mr. Adams would further assault her. Consequently, Deputy Sheriff Simmons arrested Mr. Smith for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

William Ray Murphy, age 65, 103 Upper Fifteenmile Creek Road, Wingett Run, for theft, a felony. Murphy was arrested picked up in Portsmouth, OH by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 12 at 2:15 pm.

Timothy Mark Smith, age 54, 5745 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 12 at 8:47 pm.

Jason Bradley Whittaker, age 34, 22781 State Route 60, Beverly, for driving under an FRA suspended license, failure to appear and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Whittaker was arrested near milepost twenty-four on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Sep 12 at 11:39 pm.
