On 27 Aug 12 a caller reported the driver of a Chevy truck was driving erratically and struck a building at the corner of Main and Dilly streets in Macksburg. At the scene Deputy Sheriff McKee observed twenty empty beer cans strewn around the truck that had rolled onto its top after the collision. The driver, Glen O. Williams, age 36, 527 Broad Street, Macksburg, was nowhere to be found but later returned to the scene and admitted he was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash. Though he initially said he did not require medical attention, Mr. Williams subsequently complained of back pain and appeared to be experiencing a panic attack. As a precaution Mr. Williams was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital. As a result of the crash, Deputy McKee requested summonses for Mr. Williams for OVI and failure to control.
