On 10 Aug 12 Sgt. Hornbeck requested a warrant
for Goldie L. Brookover, age 51, 189 Fourth Street Lot 4, Lowell,
for falsification. Three days earlier Mrs. Brookover reported
thousands of dollars in jewelry was stolen from her home and
implicated a neighbor in the theft. Sgt. Hornbeck later located
jewelry matching Mrs. Brookover’s description at a local
pawn shop. The pawn ticket bore Mrs. Brookover’s signature
and showed the items were sold in late March of last year.
On 10 Aug 12 Deputy Sheriff Simmons and the
Caldwell Fire Department responded to a fire at a camping trailer
owned by George Esparza, age 70, at 15940 State Route 821, Macksburg.
Mr. Esparza, who leases the trailer and sleeps there while he
is in town, was not present when the accidental fire ignited.
The trailer was a total loss.
On 10 Aug 12 the owner of the Silver Moon Diner,
7665 State Route 339, Vincent, reported the business received
a check for $51.21 on 25 May 12 that was later returned due
to insufficient funds. This case remains under investigation
On 10 Aug 12 Miranda Scoggan, age 24, 127 Greene
Street Apt. B, Newport, reported she found two small caliber
revolvers and a single shot shotgun in her home that she believes
may be stolen. Ms. Scoggan said the weapons were brought to
the residence by her boyfriend’s friend and that she did
not want them in her home. Lt. Rhodes recovered the guns and
is attempting to ascertain their origin.
On 10 Aug 12 the Beverly-Waterford Fire Department
transported a twenty-eight year old Waterford resident to Marietta
Memorial Hospital for treatment to a heroin overdose. Following
her release from the hospital the victim was arrested on a felony
charge of possession of heroin and a misdemeanor charge of possession
of drug abuse instruments (910).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jonathan Charles Cline, age 18, 600 Reed Street,
Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Cline was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Probation
Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 10 Aug 12 at 8:53 am.
Natasha Marie Treadway, age 23, 186 Chilton
Avenue, Mansfield, OH, for obstructing official business, a
misdemeanor. Treadway turned herself in to Patrolman Ellenwood
at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 12 at 9:29 am.
Lindsey Mae Tornes, age 22, 1160 Hadley Hollow
Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a
misdemeanor. Tornes was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 10 Aug 12 at 10:31 am.
Nichole Yvonne Hesson, age 30, 1006 17th Street,
Parkersburg, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Hesson was
arrested at Kroger in Belpre by Patrolman Heddleston of the
Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 10 Aug 12 at 11:35 am.
Brent Edward Deeter, age 33, 407 Fourth Street
Apt. B, Marietta, for theft and for two counts of assault, all
misdemeanors. Deeter was arrested on Hillcrest Drive by Patrolman
Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 12 at 2:42 pm.
Cody Alan Moore, age 22, 1960 Broadway Street,
Stockport, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Moore was arrested
on State Route 339 near milepost ten by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug
12 at 6:10 pm.
Jeffery Wood Brown, age 39, 3623 Packard Street
Apt. 34, Parkersburg, for rape, a felony. Brown was arrested
by Detective Hawkins of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Aug 12 at
