On 3 Aug 12 Deputy Sheriff McPeek issued a citation to Jennifer Lane, age 33, 708 56th Street, Vienna, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy McPeek stopped Ms. Lane on State Route 339 near milepost eleven in Barlow Township.

On 3 Aug 12 Darrell J. Cunningham, age 77, 5327 Buchanan Road, Waterford, reported he received a phone call from a male subject with a foreign accent informing him that he won a sweepstakes prize of $850,000. To claim the alleged prize Mr. Cunningham purchased a prepaid money card for $390 and provided the caller with the card number. When the caller phoned again and requested an additional $1,000 Mr. Cunningham became suspicious. Deputy Sheriff Holbert attempted to contact the caller but was unsuccessful. This case remains under investigation.

On 3 Aug 12 Jessica D. Williams, age 23, 570 High Street, Macksburg, reported she was involved in a heated argument with her husband outside their home. During the confrontation over her alleged marital indiscretions, Mrs. Williams said her husband shoved her. Mrs. Williams’ husband stated his wife also shoved him during the dispute. Deputy Sheriff Reeder determined there was no intentional harm on the part of either subject and that both parties were at fault. Therefore, Deputy Reeder closed this case as unfounded.

On 3 Aug 12 Burt M. Elliott, age 57, 1980 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 6 Jul and 11 Jul an unknown suspect stole his paycheck from his desk at Marietta Industrial Enterprises. The suspect then forged Mr. Elliott’s signature and cashed the check at a local bank. This case remains under investigation (1104).

On 3 Aug 12 a caretaker for Henry J. Antill II, age 37, 5199 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect recently stole more than sixty of Mr. Antill’s blood pressure pills. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 3 Aug 12 John J. Miller, age 54, 1080 Walsh Road, Vincent, reported when he confronted an acquaintance at his home for stealing a generator and tools, the acquaintance swung a fist at him and knocked the glasses off his face. The two wrestled briefly before being separated by bystanders. Deputy Sheriff Caltrider is attempting to locate the suspect for an interview.

DRUG RELATED ARRESTS

Two suspects were arrested following the execution of a search warrant by the Major Crimes Task Force at 1023 Third Street, Marietta, in the early morning hours of 3 Aug 12. Russell S. Burkhammer Jr., age 39, and Stacy Y. Lee, age 41, face third degree felony charges of tampering with drugs. Along with Sheriff’s Deputies, Task Force Agents discovered a large quantity of syringes and empty Fentanyl patches on a dining room table. Ms. Lee filled a prescription for fifteen Fentanyl patches on 2 Aug and had only three remaining. Under questioning Ms. Lee admitted using the syringes to inject Fentanyl, a Schedule II drug. Investigators also located a prescription pill bottle for Abilify containing nine blue pills and a straw containing a powdery blue residue. The bottle was prescribed to Mr. Burkhammer and contained pills that were later identified as Adderall, a Schedule II drug.

Both suspects have histories involving narcotics activities. Mr. Burkhammer was most recently arrested for trafficking in drugs in April 2011 and Ms. Lee was arrested for the same offense in September 2009. Both suspects appeared in Marietta Municipal Court this morning and had their bonds set at $15,000. They remain incarcerated in lieu of bond at the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Russell S. Burkhammer Jr., age 49, 1023 Third Street, Marietta, for tampering with drugs, a felony. Burkhammer was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 12 at 1:42 am.

Stacy Yvette Lee, age 41, 615 River Road, Marietta, for tampering with drugs, a felony. Lee was arrested at 1023 Third Street by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 12 at 1:42 am.

Chad Anthony Burdette, age 30, 470 Hartline Road, Whipple, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Burdette was arrested on Sharon Street by Patrolman Kampmeier of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 12 at 4:10 am.

Andrew Conner Stanley, age 21, 522 Greenhills Road, Sandyville, WV, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Stanley was arrested on Putnam Street by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 12 at 4:57 am.

Scott James Freeman, age 30, 200 Pennock Drive Lot 49, Beverly, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Freeman was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Miller of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Aug 12 at 10:40 pm.
