On 16 Jul 12 Deputy Sheriff McPeek requested a summons for a sixteen year old Marietta resident to appear in Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The teenager’s parents reported finding marijuana, a marijuana pipe and a grinder in their daughter’s backpack. Additionally, the parents said their daughter has recently been disrespectful and has stolen money items from the home. Demanding the return of her drug items, the teenager threatened to run away if they were not given to her.

On 16 Jul 12 Denise Berga, age 20, 202 Duncan Lane, New Matamoras, reported she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Kevin M. Ridgeway, age 22, 403 Main Street, New Matamoras. While retrieving property from Ms. Berga’s residence, Mr. Ridgeway became angry and squirted body wash all over Ms. Berga, a couch, the wall and ceiling. After Mr. Ridgeway threatened to shoot Ms. Berga and her son, Ms. Berga fled to a friend’s home. Mr. Ridgeway followed Ms. Berga to the location, where he struck her in the mouth, placed her in a head lock and shoved her to the ground. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Ridgeway only stated, “take me to jail.” Based on his investigation, Deputy Sheriff McPeek arrested Mr. Ridgeway for assault and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 16 Jul 12 Mary Webb, age 59, 297 McDonald Road, Waterford, reported she received a phone call from her bank informing her that an unknown suspect attempted to use her personal information to create an account to access her bank account online. The suspect was unsuccessful in their attempt to access the account. This case remains under investigation (1104).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Erika Renea Kohl, age 31, 270 Sequoia Drive, Byesville, for two felony counts of trafficking in drugs. Kohl turned herself in to Chief Deputy Warden at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 12 at 11:05 am.

Thomas Ira Valentine, age 30, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation and for two counts of unlawful restraint, all misdemeanors. Valentine was arrested by Patrolman Thomas at the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 12 at 2:18 pm.

Kevin Michael Ridgeway, age 22, 403 Main Street, New Matamoras, for assault, a misdemeanor. Ridgeway was arrested in New Matamoras by Deputy Sheriff McPeek and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 12 at 2:35 pm.

Ronald Wayne Gilbert, age 47, 920 Quarry Street, Marietta, for burglary and theft, both felonies. Gilbert was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Estes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 12 at 4:01 pm.

Thomas Ogle Davis Sr., age 31, 52175 Tower Road, Cumberland, OH, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Davis was arrested in Macksburg by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 12 at 5:45 pm.
