On 10 Jul 12 Deputy Sheriff McConnell requested a summons for Shannon Hines, age 23, address unknown, for theft. Mr. Hines’ grandfather, Larry Coe, age 73, 1220 Brackenridge Road, Vincent, reported earlier in the day that he believed his grandson stole a Stihl chainsaw from his property the day before. Deputy McConnell located the chainsaw at a local pawn shop and identified Mr. Hines as the individual who pawned the saw.

On 10 Jul 12 Sonja Morrow, age 43, 1045 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported her son, Larry J. Hashman III, age 24, was off his psychiatric medications and was acting violent and yelling. At one point during the incident, Ms. Morrow said her son threatened to hit her. Ms. Morrow stated Mr. Hashman was behaving irrationally and she felt he would carry out his threat. Informed he was under arrest for domestic violence, Mr. Hashman struggled with Deputy Sheriffs Carr and McKee. Mr. Hashman continued to be combative with staff at the Washington County Jail and subdued with a Taser.

On 10 Jul 12 an employee of Siemer Distributing Company, 1400 Commerce Drive, New Lexington, OH, reported the business received bad checks from a local man on behalf of his business in April and May. The total of the two bad checks was $192. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 10 Jul 12 the Little Hocking Fire Department transported Robert M. Haynes, age 52, 98 Cherry Blossom Lane, Little Hocking, to Camden Clark Hospital after he fell approximately six feet from a ladder. Mr. Haynes was painting his home when he said he lost his balance, causing his foot to slip and for him to fall onto an air conditioning unit. Mr. Haynes was scheduled to undergo x-rays to determine the extent of his injuries (910).

On 10 Jul 12 David W. Madison, age 40, 135 Mill Street, Waterford, reported that morning he discovered puncture holes in two tires on a junk vehicle on his property. This case remains under investigation (790).

On 10 Jul 12 Gary E. Wells, age 43, 24 State Route 124, Little Hocking, reported at some point during the past ten days an unknown suspect(s) stole a car jack that he stored outside his garage. This case remains under investigation (910).

On 10 Jul 12 Clarence A. Wriston III, age 38, 12865 State Route 676, Waterford, reported he was retrieving belongings for his young son at a residence on Dodd Run Road when he was confronted by an unknown male. Mr. Wriston said the suspect rammed the side of his vehicle with his truck, yelled at him and subsequently threatened him with a small handgun. This case remains under investigation (1007).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Larry J. Hashman III, age 24, 1240 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hashman was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jul 12 at 12:34 pm.

Michael Lee Mellon, age 37, 1423 Dennison Avenue, Stanton, VA, for two felony counts of Rape. Mellon was picked up in Craigsville, VA by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jul 12 at 6:46 pm.

David Lee Perine, age 27, 503 Franklin Street, Marietta, for resisting arrest, breach of recognizance, failure to appear and for failing to confine/restrain a dog, all misdemeanors. Perine was arrested in New Matamoras by Patrolman Blamble of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jul 12 at 10:01 pm.
