On 9 Jul 12 Deputy Sheriff Simmons responded to an altercation involving a thirty-seven year old Whipple resident and his seventeen year old son. The teenager was shouting and yelling profanities when his father grabbed him by the shoulders. When he released his son the father said it appeared the teenager was making a fist so he backhanded his son to get his attention. Witnesses confirmed the father’s account and stated there was no malicious intent. As a result, Deputy Simmons closed this case as unfounded.

Ninety-seven marijuana plants in various stages of growth and over six pounds of marijuana were seized early yesterday evening following the execution of a search warrant at 1495 Clark Road, Cutler. An investigation conducted by Agents of the Major Crimes Task Force indicated the owner of the property, James M. Mayle Jr., age 52, 3933 Three Rivers Lane, Groveport, OH, was operating an indoor marijuana grow facility.
