On 4 Jul 12 Sgt. Hornbeck responded to the scene of death of a seventy-one year old Waterford resident. The man’s death appears to be due to natural causes; no foul play is suspected.

On 4 Jul 12 an employee of Par Mar #14, 66 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, reported when she arrived at the business at 5:30 am she discovered the store had been forcibly entered. A complete inventory has yet been completed but an initial estimate of the stolen items are $500 in cash and coins, six cartons of cigarettes and numerous individual packs of cigarettes and cigars. This case remains under investigation (592).

On 4 Jul 12 Melissa D. Gibson, age 35, 195 Fourth Street, Lowell, reported sometime between 9 am and 1:15 pm she suspects her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend damaged the windshield of her Chevy pickup truck. Deputy Sheriff Carr determined the vehicle was titled to the ex-girlfriend but that she gave the title to her ex-boyfriend and Ms. Gibson. Since the vehicle is still in the suspect’s name Deputy Sheriff Carr will be consulting the Law Director’s Office to determine if charges are warranted in the case.

On 4 Jul 12 Denise Berga, age 20, 706 Main Street, New Matamoras, reported she was visiting a friend on Leith Run Road when her boyfriend stopped by her vehicle and allegedly removed her mobile phone, $75, Vicodin pills and three packs of cigarettes. Ms. Berga later declined to pursue the matter further (594).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Travis Lee Thompson, age 25, 805 Cumberland Street, Caldwell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Thompson was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Nohe of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 12 at 12:39 am.

Gonzalo Gomez-Santiago, age 27, 151 Croons Drive, Burgaw, NC, for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Gomez-Santiago was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 12 at 3:54 am.

Jerry Franklin Edwards Jr., age 43, 246 Second Avenue Apt. 2, Sutersville, PA, for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Edwards was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 12 at 10:09 am.

William Theodore Winter, age 36, 619 Central Avenue, Williamstown, for theft, breach of recognizance and for abusing harmful intoxicants, all misdemeanors. Winter was arrested at K-Mart by Patrolman Gragan of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 12 at 1:19 pm.
