On 16 Jun 12 Linda E. Kanitz, age 61, 37 Turner Drive, Belpre, reported she received a phone call from her bank informing her a female subject attempted to cash an $850 check written on her account. Ms. Kanitz’s daughter, Chantae R. Forging her mother’s name, Ms. Kanitz said she asked a friend to cash the check because she had no identification. Ms. Kanitz accepted full responsibility for the crime and commented that she did not want her friend to get in trouble. Thereafter, Sgt. Hornbeck arrested Ms. Kanitz for forgery and theft and transported her to the Washington County Jail.
