On 14 Jun 12 Robert Rhodes III, age 34, 9235 State Route 60, Lowell, reported sometime between 5:15 pm on 13 Jun and 1:00 am on 14 Jun an unknown suspect(s) entered a storage building on his property and stole a Playstation Portable with one game and three rolls of copper tubing. Mr. Rhodes estimates the stolen property has a total value of $420. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 14 Jun 12 Sgt. Smeeks and Deputy Sheriff Reeder responded to the scene of death of a fifty-nine year old Marietta resident. The man’s death appears have been caused by an overdose of prescription medication combined with alcohol. Though no foul play is suspected, this case remains under investigation.

On 14 Jun 12 the owner of Iddings Trucking, 741 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 3 am and 7 am an unknown suspect(s) pried open a door to the business and forcibly entered a cabinet that contained the company’s petty cash. The owner said the petty cash box normally contains in excess of $2,000. This case remains under investigation (1104, 1293).

On 14 Jun 12 Deputy Sheriff McPeek and the Caldwell Fire Department responded to a fire at the residence of Charles R. Metts, age 70, at 1895 Lindamood Road, Macksburg. The fire decimated the mobile home, resulting in a loss of approximately $35,000. The origin of the fire appears to be in the vicinity of the kitchen’s old electric stove. No foul play is suspected.

On 14 Jun 12 Shawntae N. Cline, age 23, 702 Fourth Street, Belpre, reported she was involved an altercation with Seath A. Sebring, age 23, 1901 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, as she rode in a vehicle driven by Mr. Sebring northbound on Michaelis Road. Ms. Cline said an argument escalated to a point where Mr. Cline punched her in the forehead and broke her sunglasses. When Mr. Sebring stopped the vehicle, Ms. Cline said she exited and jumped into the bed of a truck a passerby stopped after seeing a commotion. Mr. Sebring then grabbed Ms. Cline by the neck and dragged her into the roadway where he continued to attempt to assault her until two witnesses intervened. Questioned by Deputy Sheriff Holbert about the incident, Mr. Sebring admitted consuming two mixed drinks and two beers with Ms. Cline when they ate lunch and subsequently driving the vehicle to its current location. As Deputy Holbert attempted to handcuff Mr. Sebring he resisted and when he was eventually placed in a cruiser he repeatedly banged his head on the protective divider. Mr. Sebring continued to be defiant at the Washington County Jail, pounding his head on a wall and struggling with Corrections Officers. As a result of the incident, Mr. Sebring was charged with assault, OVI and disorderly conduct. Ms. Cline suffered bruising, a swollen lip, a bite to her ear and multiple abrasions. She was transported by the Warren Fire Department to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to her injuries.

On 14 Jun 12 Sgt. Hornbeck issued a citation to Michael J. Bowser, age 62, 148 Rector Road, Vienna, for traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Hornbeck stopped Mr. Bowser on State Route 7 near Joe Skinner Road in Belpre Township.

On 14 Jun 12 Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Julius J. Janca, age 24, Fairfield Inn Room 137, Marietta, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt. Mankins stopped Mr. Janca on State Route 7 near milepost forty-one in Grandview Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Glenn Roger Johnson Jr., age 25, 115 Harmar Street, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested on Riley Drive by Patrolman Caldwell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 12 at 1:05 pm.

Seath Andrew Sebring, age 23, 1901 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, for OVI, assault and for disorderly conduct by fighting, all misdemeanors. Sebring was arrested on Michaelis Road by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 12 at 5:00 pm.

Curtis Jay Noel, age 50, 255 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Noel was arrested on Acme Street by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 12 at 5:30 pm.

David Leroy Moreland II, age 22, 709 Third Street Apt. 3, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Moreland was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 12 at 7:45 pm.

Derek Charles Slaven, age 21, 1211 Wyatt Lane Apt. A, Belpre, for being a military deserter. Slaven was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hunter of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 12 at 11:10 pm.
