On 9 Jun 12 Kayla Hendershot, age 25, 225 ½ Third Street, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle and removed the cash from her wallet and the loose change from the console. The total amount stolen was approximately $20. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 9 Jun 12 Mark M. Somerville, age 22, 115 Skyvue Circle, Marietta, reported sometime overnight his 2002 Chevy Avalanche was stolen from outside his home. While en route to conduct his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Reeder observed Mr. Somerville’s truck traveling in the opposite direction and conducted a traffic stop on Buckeye Avenue near N. Hart Street. The driver of the vehicle, Justin M. Grahame, age 19, 1024 Hadley Lane, Marietta, claimed he had permission to use the truck to transport an ATV but contradicted himself under further questioning. Deputy Reeder and Sgt. Smeeks found a GPS and other items in the truck that did not belong to the victim and led them to a residence near where Mr. Grahame was staying at 103 Brandy Drive. Shown the GPS and recovered property, Kimberly Vuksic, age 27, 127 Brandy Drive, identified the items as belonging to her. Given permission by the homeowner to search 103 Brandy Drive, the Deputies discovered a gold golf cart they believed was stolen. Shortly thereafter, Harold G. Cartwright, age 62, 2828 Morrison Street, Akron, reported a golf cart matching that description was stolen from his lot at the Landings Campground. As a result of the investigation, Mr. Grahame was arrested for felony counts of automobile theft and theft and for misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property.
