Archive of 05-31-12

On 31 May 12 Crystal Maynard, age 40, 103 Woodrow Street, Marietta, reported she and her husband, Mark, age 45, were drinking and watching television when he grew enraged after seeing a commercial. Unable to be calmed by his wife, Mr. Maynard kicked Mrs. Maynard and struck her several times in the face. Mr. Maynard subsequently forced his wife to lie in a bathtub, filled it with water and threw a hairdryer into it. Mr. Maynard fled the scene but was later located by the Marietta City Police Department and arrested for domestic violence. Questioned about the incident, Mr. Maynard claimed his wife sustained her injuries in a fall down stairs. Mrs. Maynard was transported by the Devola Fire Department to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to her injuries.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Thomas Gene Carpenter, age 40, 98 Main Street, Dexter City, for driving under an FRA suspended license and failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 12 at 11:00 am.

Dallas Willey Farnsworth, age 38, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Farnsworth was arrested on Franklin Street by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 12 at 9:10 pm.

Richard Henry Haught Jr., age 52, 139 Groves Avenue, Marietta, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct by intoxication and obstructing official business. Haught was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 12 at 9:37 pm.
