On 24 May 12 Gerald L. Sealey, age 59, 2315 School House Road, Little Hocking, reported he was involved in a dispute with his son, Daniel, age 24, at their residence that morning. Mr. Sealey intervened in an argument his son was having with his live-in girlfriend, Lindsey Grate, age 22, and caused his son to become more enraged. During the confrontation that followed, Daniel threatened to kill his father and then himself. After Mr. Sealey departed the scene his son broke a window on his vehicle and retrieved two guns from inside it. Still fuming, Daniel fired one of the weapons at a tree and fled in his own vehicle along with his girlfriend. Interviewed by Sgt. Mankins after being stopped by the Belpre Police Department, Daniel admitted threatening his father and firing the weapon. Also questioned, Ms. Grate said during the incident her boyfriend “flipped out,” threw her onto their bed and held her down by the arms. Consequently, Daniel was arrested for two counts of domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail. At the time of his arrest Daniel was found in possession of six Vicodin pills, resulting in an additional charge of possession of drugs.

Malone, age 21, 1073 Limestone Road, Saint Marys, standing by her bed. When she refused to move over so he could lie down, Ms. Hickel said Mr. Malone began choking her. Ms. Hickel fled down a hallway but was tripped by Mr. Malone and subsequently shoved down steps in the home. Mr. Malone then choked Ms. Hickel a second time before fleeing the residence. Mr. Malone later turned himself in, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail (500, 910).

On 24 May 12 David Madison, age 40, 135 Mill Street, Waterford, reported he and his son were sighting their muzzleloaders when they heard gunshots being fired in their direction. At the alleged suspect’s residence at 670 Main Street, Waterford, Lt. Rhodes and Deputy Sheriff Metts observed several spent shotgun shells on the ground. The suspect, Allen L. Patterson, age 35, admitted firing the weapon in the direction of Mr. Madison’s residence and admitted consuming only two beers.
