On 17 May 12 the Barlow Fire Department transported
a forty-two year old Cutler resident to Marietta Memorial Hospital
for treatment following a suicide attempt. The victim, who was
alert and talkative at the hospital, said she ingested one or
two dozen of her prescription Lunesta pills. The victim is expected
to recover fully (1293).
On 17 May 12 Kay Munnell, age 27, 2575 Lindamood
Road, Macksburg, reported she visited her mother’s home
for a short period that afternoon and during that time she said
her mother struck her once on the top of the head. Interviewing
the alleged suspect and a witness, Deputy Sheriff Reeder could
not corroborate the events relayed by Ms. Munnell. As a result,
Deputy Reeder closed this case as unfounded.
On 17 May 12 Jeffrey Lauer, age 55, 840 Moss
Run Road, Marietta, reported the metal that remained from a
controlled burn at his father in law’s house at 235 Mount
Tom Road, Marietta, was stolen sometime between 10 May and 15
May. The stolen metal includes items such as roofing material,
stove pipe and a ten foot piece of casing. This case remains
under investigation (912).
On 17 May 12 Sgt. Anderson and Deputy Sheriff
Caltrider responded to the scene of death of a seventy year
old Marietta resident. The man’s death appears to be due
to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Though no foul
play is suspected, this case remains under investigation.
On 17 May 12 Stella Reed, age 57, 122 Tennis
Center Drive Apt. 39, Marietta, reported she believes a family
member used her debit card without permission to withdraw $200
from an ATM and to make two internet purchases totaling $10.
This case remains under investigation (912).
On 17 May 12 Ashton Beckett, age 18, 5155 Veto
Road, Belpre, reported the driver of an unknown vehicle sideswiped
the driver side of her Chevy Cavalier while it was parked at
the Washington County Career Center that day. The collision
caused moderate and functional damage.

Teresa Lynn Jackson, age 37, 424 Steubenville
Avenue Apt. 5, Cambridge, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor.
Jackson was picked up in Guernsey County by Deputy Sheriff Huffer
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 May 12 at
Shawn Eric Anderson, age 25, 2356 Goshen Valley
Drive, New Philadelphia, OH, for two misdemeanor counts of contempt
of a court order. Anderson was picked up in Tuscarawas County
by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 17 May 12 at 1:50 pm.
