On 15 May 12 Rebecca Johnson, age 38, 465 Duck Creek Road, Whipple, reported at some point during the past few days an unknown suspect(s) entered her garage and stole a Troy-Bilt weed eater. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 15 May 12 Selina Miller, age 34, 11575 State Route 821, Lower Salem, reported sometime while she was at work and her children were at school six fishing rods, seven reels and a large tackle box were stolen from her carport. Ms. Miller estimates the fishing gear was worth in excess of $1,400. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 15 May 12 Rebecca Abbott, age 67, 2165 Congress Road, Belpre, reported she was in bed when she heard a vehicle pull into her driveway around midnight. Ms. Abbott said two individuals exited the vehicle and fiddled with the door at the rear of the residence. The suspects then attempted to use bodily force to gain entry but were thwarted by the door’s chain lock. Thereafter the two suspects fled in an unknown type of vehicle. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 15 May 12 Melissa Fernandez, age 18, 1873 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell, reported around 3 am that morning she discovered blue paint covering all of the windows and mirrors on her Pontiac Grand Am. This case remains under investigation (910).

On 15 May 12 Deputy Sheriff McConnell arrested Gary Walton, age 51, 106 Stanley Mills Road, Little Hocking, for domestic violence. Mr. Walton resides in a separate residence on property along with his estranged wife, Pamela, age 54, and confronted her after his dog followed her inside her home. Mr. Walton forcibly opened the locked screen door of his wife’s home and ripped the phone from his wife’s hand as she attempted to phone for help. Speaking to Ms. Walton, Deputy McConnell determined she was in fear for her safety during the incident.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Gary Jay Walton, age 51, 108 Stanley Mills Road, Little Hocking, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Walton was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff McConnell and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 12 at 11:01 am.

John J. Sparks, age 39, 211 Sandusky Street, Mechanicsburg, OH, for nonsupport of dependants and failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Sparks was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 12 at 12:51 pm.

Dustin Lee Brooks, age 25, 827 Beech Spring Road, Greenville, SC, for felony charges of breach of recognizance and failure to comply with the order/signal of an officer and a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear. Brooks was picked up in Greenville, SC by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 12 at 3:09 pm.

John William Miracle, age 50, 1620 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Miracle was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 12 at 3:47 pm.

Christopher Edward Byrd, age 24, 9626 State Route 555, Cutler, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Byrd was arrested on State Route 550 in Barlow by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15 May 12 at 11:59 pm.
