On 6 May 12 the Little Hocking Fire Department transported an eight year old Belpre resident to Camden Clark Hospital for treatment following a motorcycle wreck. The juvenile was riding a motorcycle on property adjacent to his home when the juvenile’s brother said he “clotheslined” himself on a low hanging wire. The juvenile was wearing protective equipment and was being monitored for any swelling to his throat (608).

On 6 May 12 one of the owners of Huck Brothers, 11235 State Route 60, Lowell, reported when he checked the business at 11:30 pm that evening he observed a dark colored truck accelerating away from his parking lot. The owner said a number of vehicle parts from his business fell from the bed of the truck as the suspect(s) escaped. The owner is unsure of the quantity and value of parts that were stolen. This case remains under investigation (1007).

On 6 May 12 Stacy Robinson, age 44, 5355 State Route 26, Marietta, reported sometime during the past several days an unknown suspect(s) stole between thirty and forty Percocet pills from his home. This case remains under investigation (507).

On 6 May 12 Sgt. Hornbeck responded to a vehicle fire at 1615 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre. The victim, Barbara Barker, age 45, 629 Briggs Hill Road, stated she drove the car throughout the day without any problems but said when she prepared to leave her sister’s residence the car sounded like it was starting itself. Flames then appeared under the hood and Ms. Barker escaped. The fire fully engulfed the vehicle, included the purse Ms. Barker left inside. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Drew Steven Baldwin, age 18, 507 Ninth Street, Cambridge, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Baldwin was arrested on Pike Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 12 at 2:14 am.

Robert Eugene McDowell, age 28, 643 Dunbar Highway, Blenheim, SC, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. McDowell was arrested on Colegate Drive by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 12 at 2:46 am.

Meriah Shay Dunn, age 21, 9630 State Route 260, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Dunn was arrested in New Matamoras by Patrolman Brockmeier of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 12 at 11:06 pm.
