On 3 May 12 a vice president of Bartlett Farmers Bank, 8515 State Route 339, Vincent, reported the bank received a fraudulent check for $950 on 2 Mar 12. Informed by a teller she could not withdraw from the deposit until the check cleared, the customer drove to a different branch and withdrew the $950 twenty minutes later. Bank officials contacted the customer in an effort to recoup the funds but the customer has not responded to the correspondences. This case remains under investigation (912).

On 3 May 12 an employee at the Marietta City Schools Bus Garage, 400 Millcreek Road, Marietta, reported sometime during the previous two days an unknown suspect(s) stole scrap metal and vehicle parts from a skid behind a building. The scrap has a value between $200 and $300. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 3 May 12 Diane Zimmerman, age 51, 4595 State Route 530, Lowell, reported when she arrived at her home the prior afternoon she observed an unknown vehicle in her driveway and two unknown individuals walking around her garage. The two suspects departed when Ms. Zimmerman asked them to leave and did not appear to have stolen anything. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 3 May 12 Sgt. Smeeks and the Little Hocking Fire Department responded to a fire at the residence of David Britton, age 59, at 952 Veto Road, Little Hocking. Fully engulfed in flames when emergency personnel arrived, the home was unoccupied at the time. The Little Hocking fire chief does not believe the origin is suspicious in nature and believes it may have been caused by the home’s dryer.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Rush Allen Sines, age 19, HC 78 Box 41, Rock Cave, WV, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Sines was arrested near milepost fourteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 1:16 am.

Shawn Chichester-Brand, age 21, 9421 Slate Creek Road, Rockport, WV, for OVI, driving under a suspended license and failure to control, all misdemeanors. Chichester-Brand was arrested on Greene Street by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 3:05 am.

Bryan Kent Lucas, age 54, 230 Delaware Street, Washington Courthouse, OH, for nonsupport of dependants, a felony. Lucas was picked up in Jackson County by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 2:22 pm.

Chad Arlington Orloff, age 53, 1011 Virginias Avenue, Parkersburg, for OVI and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Orloff was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 3:15 pm.

Terry Gilbert Dalton, age 46, 1313 Jewett Drive, Zanesville, for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Dalton was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Estes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 9:25 pm.

Kenneth Eugene Wriston, age 37, 85 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, for theft and for hit-skip, both misdemeanors. Wriston was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 10:15 pm.

Brandon Michael Schmidt, age 22, 106 Riley Drive Apt. 6, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors. Schmidt was arrested on Second Street by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 May 12 at 11:40 pm.
