On 2 May 12 Lt. Rhodes arrested Billie Jo Dye, age 32, 1936 Barth Road, Belpre, for OVI, driving under an FRA suspended license and for driving left of center. Following Ms. Dye as she traveled on Veto Road toward State Route 7, Lt. Rhodes observed Ms. Dye’s vehicle crossing almost entirely into the oncoming lane. Ms. Dye initially denied consuming any alcoholic beverages but later admitted drinking two, then three, then finally eight beers. Ms. Dye performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was subsequently transported to the Washington County Jail. At the jail, Ms. Dye tested .150 BAC.

On 2 May 12 John Nelson II, age 38, 2396 Woodruff Road, Vincent, reported he withdrew a large sum of money from his bank account the previous afternoon and stored it in a kitchen drawer while awaited to use it to pay several debts. Mr. Nelson said he napped for a period earlier in the evening and when he awoke the ten envelopes containing a total in excess of $5,000 were missing. This case remains under investigation (608).

On 2 May 12 a passerby reported observing a generator in the roadway at the intersection of McCoy Road and Turkeyhen Road in Barlow Township. The generator is an All Power brand 3250 watt model and did not have any marks to identify the owner.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Billie Jo Dye, age 32, 1936 Barth Road, Belpre, for OVI, driving under an FRA suspended license and for driving left of center, all misdemeanors. Dye was arrested on Veto Road by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 12 at 2:04 am.

Mark Allen Bennett, age 22, 1455 East Branch Road, Lowell, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Bennett was arrested near milepost seven on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 12 at 10:25 am.

Shawn Anthony Gill, age 32, 39504 Road Fork Road, Lower Salem, for a felony charge of violating the terms of his probation and a misdemeanor charge of driving under a suspended license. Gill was arrested on State Route 555 by Lt. Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 12 at 2:05 pm.

Samuel Emitt Jenkins, age 52, 413 Eighth Street, Parkersburg, for nonsupport of dependents, a felony. Jenkins was picked up in Doddridge County, WV by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 12 at 3:17 pm.

Cory Everett Meeks, age 26, 969 Gerken Road, Whipple, for unauthorized use of a vehicle and for breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors. Meeks was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Holbert and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 12 at 10:25 pm.
