On 23 Apr 12 a teacher at Newport Elementary School, 100 Harrison Street, Newport, reported sometime over the weekend an unknown suspect(s) damaged a metal picnic table and piece of playground equipment at the school. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 23 Apr 12 an employee of Thermo Fisher, 401 Millcreek Road, Marietta, reported at some point between 6 pm on 20 Apr and 8:40 am on 23 Apr an unknown suspect(s) stole a large amount of scrap aluminum from a recycling hopper located at the northeast side of the business. This case remains under investigation (594).

On 23 Apr 12 employees at Pioneer Chevrolet and C&C Dodge reported catalytic converters were cut off vehicles in their lots sometime over the weekend. A total of five catalytic converters were stolen from vehicles at Pioneer Chevrolet and six from C&C Dodge. This case remains under investigation (1293).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Kenneth Harold Epps, age 51, 122 Sunset Lane, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Epps was arrested at the Courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 12 at 9:19 am.

Kurt Ryan Medley, age 35, 121 Cornerstone Drive, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Medley was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 12 at 9:41 am.

Ralph Claudio Jr., age 19, 3720 Union Avenue, Alliance, OH, for criminal simulation, a misdemeanor. Claudio was picked up in Stark County and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 12 at 12:46 pm.

Thomas James Givens, age 25, 2250 Willamont Avenue, Columbus, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Givens was picked up at the Franklin County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Deem and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 12 at 1:32 pm.

Joseph Carl Morehouse, age 48, 19639 State Route 550, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Morehouse was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 12 at 4:09 pm.

Brandon Michael Schmidt, age 21, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Schmidt was arrested on Oakview Drive by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 12 at 8:02 pm.
